START HIGH AND THEN BACK DOWN
The media could not be loaded. I picked up this dimmer for use on the lights shown in the video, except the lights the dimmer will be used on are already up. I used an extra set of lights to see how well this dimmer actually worked. The lights are 15 watts in total, so I am well under the 100 watt limit for LEDs on the dimmer. I plan on running an additional set of lights where the existing strand is, due to the bulbs being 3' apart which seems out of place indoors. So that will bring my bulbs to 1-1/2 feet apart, not 3 feet. Once the additional strand of bulbs are added, the room then becomes too bright, hence the need for a dimmer. The dimmer is well made, and the contacts inside for the actual ON/OFF feature are tungsten/copper, so that will give a long service life. I had to slide the dimmer switch almost to full on to get a response, and then back it down to get a controlled dim. Basically I had to go to full power and then come back to get the desired brightness. The lights are using 15 watts at full brightness, and that went up just a hair (16 watts) when the bulbs were fully dimmed. The power is being consumed by the dimmer, so there is no energy savings by using the dimmer, only reducing overall brightness and extending bulb life. I didn't find any loose screws in my dimmer like another reviewer had, but I took some shots of the internals while I was there. The circuit board is clean, and no rough soldering jobs were noticed. The 3' cord length is fine for me, unlike others, so no complaints on that. You just have to play with the dimmer to get the right settings. The 50' light strand with 15 bulbs I used in the video is from Amazon by Tenmiro- ASIN: B0CQXWT3Z6

Simplest Dimming Solution is the BEST!
I have tried several different dimming solutions over the past few weeks, as I want most of the lamps in my apartment to have that option.1. I tried the wall plug that one has to use an app to operate. Big Pain.2. I tried a wall plug that worked with a remote control; much better, but there's always the problem of finding the remote when you need it.3. Tried a lamp fixture to replace the old one, the difference being that the on/off knob has become a knob that dims. Works great, only hassle is having to install the lamp fixture. And now this, which is the simplest to implement solution of all. The sliding switch provides a wide range of options from "off" to "full brightness." For me, it's the perfect solution except for the one problem that many reviewers have noticed; the 3 foot cord means that in almost any case, you're going to need an extension cord. Definitely not a deal killer, but definitely a star off.So get out an extension cord, plug your light into the dimmer and the dimmer into the cord, and you will be able to easily control the level of brightness for dimmable bulbs. I love it.I hope this review was helpful to you.

Works as intended!
We bought a new floor lamp that works and looks amazing -- and is bright! But in the evening we wanted to dim it down a bit to watch TV -- this switch is amazing. It gives us a slide control that we placed in-between our recliners and you can dim down that light like it was a remote that came with it! All we had to do was plug it in, and it worked. Can't beat that. And gives us the functionality of selecting the intensity of our new lamp. I think we're gonna get a few more of these and use them in our bedroom for the end tables.

Not for all LED bulbs
Tried it on a lamp that came with a remote with a dimmable 3 color temperature smart bulb and bulb flickered rapidly, was not usable. That smart bulb no longer smart or 3 color temperature but it still lights up when not using this dimmer. Tried a different LED bulb and it worked fine. No way of knowing if it will work on damage your LED lamp until after you buy it.

Extra screws inside!
Got this dimmer for a floor lamp that doesn't have one. It's UL Listed. It dims. You just plug it in between your lamp and the wall. What's not to like? Well, just two things.First, the dimmer rattled badly when moved around. Why would a dimmer rattle, you might ask? I wondered that myself because they're not supposed to make any sort of noise at all!I'm handy and competent with electrical stuff so I opened up the dimmer housing (no, Gracie, it wasn't plugged in) and found an extra screw just rattling around where it could have easily shorted things out and caused a fire! Good thing I pay attention to things like that! The dimmer works just fine after removing the extraneous screw but it makes me really wonder about overall quality control. Just to be clear, if you don't know exactly what you're doing don't do what I did, just return the product without plugging it in like normal people would do!Second, the cord is only 3.3ft (38") long so if your outlet isn't right beneath where you want the control to be it all but guarantees you'll need to use an extension cord.It wouldn't have cost much to make the cord 3ft longer. Better quality control might take a bit more effort, however.I've rated it 3 stars because it works as expected after removing the extra screw, but I shouldn't have to fix stuff like this.

ALMOST got 5 Stars...
Love this dimmer switch to lower and raise the brightness in a lamp that is hard to reach. It works just fine with a smooth glider to adjust the brightness on dimmable lightbulbs. Just turn your lamp to the on position, plug the lamp into this dimmer, and the rest of the controls are managed from the switch from full brightness to the off position. The only big problem in my case is the short cord between the plug and the switch. The plug on the wall is far from the table I need to place the switch. I suppose the only solution is to attach the plug to an extention cord that plugs into the wall. Hopefully this is not a fire hazard, but it will have to do. Otherwise, great price and great solution for adjusting brightness on a lamp that's hard to reach.

Works as advertised
I got this for a floor lamp next to my wife’s makeup table. This allows her to adjust the lighting level from the table without having to get up. Just make sure the bulb in the lamp is a dimmable bulb. It works as intended.
