Beautiful story of caring & hope, great message for children
Lovely story. Underlying messages, of an injured bird , who no one appears to see, then someone notices & helps him to heal. Great survival & hope story & shows someone will care & things will get better. Evokes lots of empathy from even preschoolers. A bird was injured & falls from the sky in the city. Everyone walks passed , not seeing it. It's still alive , a boy & his family see the bird with a broken wing. They look after it with amazing TLC & , it's touchingly illustrated with few words in parts. You feel the atmosphere of the book throughout & how the characters feel. It's just beautiful & positive

How to heal a broken wing
This is a beautiful, sensitive and emotional book. The pictures are stunning, often telling the story alone, and always adding a deeper meaning to the text. The care and kindness throughout the book, attributed to such a young child, amongst others, says such a lot about valuing our younger generation. The ending is a cliff hanger and the children in my class were much divided about how they felt about the final page. I would recommend this book to anyone, young or old. I read it to my 4 year old grandson and to my 80 year old mum to equal delight. A book that will live with me forever.

A lovely picture book
Bob Graham is ace. If, like me, you love his illustrations and style then this story will not disappoint. In the story a bird hits a window and falls to the ground, injured. Nobody seems to notice, apart from a little boy, Will. I bought this for my 5 year old, but the other two loved it just as much. Bob Graham has told a story with few words, but his illustrations convey the sentiment perfectly.

Minimal text
Beautifully illustrated, but very lacking in text. Most pages have no text, and the rest have just a few words on each. My kids didn't find it very engaging for this reason, they enjoyed a first read looking at the pictures but there wasn't enough to make them want to 'read' it again.

Touching
A beautiful story. Brought a tear to my eye when reading it to my 6yo and 3yo. They both asked for a second reading straight away.
