Relaxing and simple, almost bell-bottoms by American standards, Hakama pantas are a Japanese long/billowy pant-style, and these are comfotable, made of a nice airy fabric, and with a simple drawstring. While they *are* shockingly large for hakama, traditionally trending to smaller sizes, these would still be tight on anyone with significant weight/belly-size in "American", as a warning!

I purchased these in hopes I could use them in wear for my yoga class and Capoeira. I purchased a size 36 but they fit like a 40!!!! I love the wide airy design in the legs and feel of the fabric but note that you will need to order these in at least 2 to 3 sizes down. Unfortunately, I am going to have to return these and reattempt to order again in maybe a 34 (I think) to see how they fit and feel in actual use. I'll provide a later update once I have been able to exchange and get the proper fit.

These are nice and simple “Thai Fisherman” pants. I’m using them as yoga pants and for meditation and they’re very comfortable. I like how easy they are to put on and adjust to my waist. I'm 5'7" (1.7m) with about 32" (82cm) waist and the 5 Tall size fits me pretty well. I thought they were a little long but it’s so easy to adjust them up so it wasn’t a big deal. I was confused at first because I thought the belt goes in front but once I read the instructions on how to wear the pants, it all made sense. Duh! I do wonder if the drawstrings or waist wouldn’t be better if elastic. Anyway, I did not hand wash them as recommended but they held up well in the machine. They came out very wrinkly though due to being 100% cotton but I don’t plan on ironing them or wearing them around town so it’s not a big deal to me. Overall, these are pretty much what I was expecting from these types of pants so I’m very happy with them. They are one size fits most and can be easily adjusted to fit properly. The cotton wasn’t as tightly weaved as I’d thought they’d be but it makes sense that they are just martial arts or “fisherman pants”. I’d give them a 4.5/5.0 - 10/30/2023

I’ll admit, I saw these after we had made our Halloween costume plans, we went pirate. I thought “Hey, those would make great pirate pants!”Spoiler: They actually did.When they came I pulled them out of the package and thought “How will these fit me? They are huge!”Spoiler: They did.After looking for several videos I found a helpful one on how to wear and tie these. You may have to practice a few times to get it right.These look great on those slim models, right? It’s not going to look as good if you are larger guy with a wide frame.However, I finally got them tied correctly and wore them around the house one night for a few hours and quickly realized they are pretty darn comfy. For our couples Halloween party I had a blue medieval/pirate looking shirt and other items. The shirt fell down about 6” below my waist band so it hid the fold I could not get perfect. It looked really good.As the night went on I had to go adjust and tighten once but we were moving around a bit. That first night I wore it as a test I had it on for about 4 hours. We were mostly sitting and relaxing. Had no problems then.Might pull them out to relax in. Can see more Halloween options for them. I’m sure the more I wear them the better the fit will get.

Takes a little getting used to if your unfamiliar but they're lightweight and cover all they should.

These pants are huge. But I think that is really how they are made to be. I use these around the house. They are comfortable and easy to move in. Putting them takes getting used to. And using them bathroom (if you are going number 1 standing up) is a bit of a task but the pants feel good. A little pricey in my opinion but they are versatile pants.

There is zero sizing information on the sales page. I had no idea what size 5 T was. Turns out it means a circus tent. Way way too large for me or most humans. I also couldn't figure out how to make it look like in the photos, but didn't try every possibility. Built decently. of a stiffer, mediumwight but porous cotton fabric.

These Thai fishermen pants are very interesting. They are made of 100% cotton, and it doesn't shrink or fade after washing and drying. I had no idea how to wear these properly and thought these were way too large until I watched a tutorial on YouTube on what to do. Now they fit me perfectly. There is a single large pocket on the right side that can fit a large cell phone. These are very comfortable and give me great freedom of movement. They are perfect for my stretching and yoga. I am pleased with them and am happy with my order.
