This review is for the READY STEADY DEFEND Pest-Proof Air Brick Mesh Covers (Pack of 4) - Durable Stainless Steel & Eco-Friendly Plastic Frame, Easy Install, UK Made£19.99 at the time of review.The advertising says ‘Effective Pest Barrier Technology’ and goes on to say they will stop mice and rats from entering your home through your air bricks.The holes in my air bricks are around the 5-8mm mark square, so the mice and rats would have to be really small to get through. They will stop insects though and that’s probably a better idea.I would suggest ignoring the sales pitch as covers like these can be bought from most builders merchants and for around the same price.I used silicon to stick them to the wall as our exterior brick has a wavy/ripple design on it and the silicon helped to make a seal all the way around. My only criticism is that I was short a pair of screw plugs to fill in the screw holes, but a dab of silicon sorted that out as well.The colour of the plastic is quite vibrant, but I suspect it will dull down a lot over time and weather.4 stars from me since there is no real WOW factor here, and the price is on a par with other sources. They do do the job though.

Review of Pest-Proof Air Brick Mesh Covers (Pack of 4).A set of four air brick covers, would be nice if new houses were built with air bricks nowadays but many are not, air bricks provided ventilation for both inside the house and the cavity wall, circulating fresh air prevents damp, unfortunately building design has diminished just like brick built cavity walls.However should one have a properly built brick cavity wall these air brick covers are essential to stop not only rodents but insects also, these particular covers we are told are made from recycled plastic with a stainless steel mesh, screws and wall plugs provided also.The fitting of air vents should include some sort of sealer for around the extremity of the air vent, to this end a groove has been moulded into the frame to allow sealant to bond to the plastic frame, the excess then smoothed to an angle from the brick to vent to allow water run off, obviously fastening by provided screws keeps the air vent secure and in place whilst the sealant dries, as an added bonus screw caps are also provided to prevent water ingress.These brick air vent covers do prevent rodents, all but miniature insects can pass through the wire mesh, a quick spray with ant spray in the summer should take care of most unwanted intrusions.Having used similar vent covers on many occasions one can say these are well made and built in the UK, a simple but necessary precaution that allows ventilation against damp and also stops unwanted visitors, pity whomever built the wall in the advertising did not finish their work to the same high standard.

This multipack of air brick vents covers is currently selling for just under twenty pounds on Amazon.They have a plastic body and a stainless steel mesh sheet that covers the air brick,whilst still allowing for ventilation.Easy to fix to-screws and rawlplugs are provided,just requires a fixing in each corner.Also provided are screw cap covers that match the colour of the vent cover.I believe this bulk pack is available in different colours.I have been sent the brown version of these.The covers look quite robust and should prove to be an effective shield against rodents.My rating is 5 Stars.I hope you will find my review and image helpful.

A basically a fiver each at the time of writing these 4 covers for £19.99 are a useful way to seal a vent brick, coming in a brick brown, by a narrow stainless steel mesh, air can move, by most pests are excluded by the fine wire weave.Four screws can fix the mesh, and holes are pre-drilled, there are screws and wall plugs included in the box. A basic DIY ask, but some care is always needed when drilling into brick or stone.
