Sweet, engaging story
Sgt. Winston Windflower has resigned from the Mounties to spend more time with his wife, Shelia Hillier, and their two girls. He just wants to get the B&B he and his wife owned up and running before his checks from the Mounties dry up. Try as he might, he can’t quite get away from the Mounties. A missing man winds up dead and since the local detachment is short an officer (because of Windflower’s departure), he gets called back to help with the investigation.I love this series. The characters have depth, the stories are topical, the dialogue is fun, and the setting calls to me. I also like the descriptions about food – Windflower is an amateur chef and the descriptions of what he’s cooking make me hungry. This series exemplifies what a cozy mystery is for me. Each story holds my interest all the way through and I feel refreshed at the end, like I’ve spent time with friends. You can read these out of order, because the author provides enough backstory that you can appreciate the current relationships and not feel lost. I personally prefer reading in order as that enhances the experience for me. I have become quite attached to Windflower and his crew, and I hope to read of his exploits for a long time.

A cozy community that is just ripe for crime.
Dangerous Waters is Mike Martin's twelfth book in his Sgt. Windflower Mysteries. Sgt. Windflower is no longer a Mounties. He and his wife are focusing on getting their B&B up and running. When men in the community come up missing and are then found dead, Windflower is asked to come back one more time to assist in the investigation. As much as he tries to stay out, the need to help draws this lawman back to lead the case. When a snowstorm hits their district, Windflower finds other criminal acts are going on under his nose. Readers will find this novel fascinating as Windflower relies on his indigenous background. It is a crime mystery that combines a cozy community with captivating investigations.

Action and mystery
This novel, Dangerous Waters: The Sgt. Windflower Book 12 written by Mike Martin, is captivating, full of action, suspense, intrigue and unexpected events at the turn of each page. The descriptions of landscapes and settings are so well written that the reader can almost feel the light and chilly breeze of the coast of Newfoundland and appreciate the beautiful sights. What’s more, this is not only the story of a murder investigation, it is also a story of adventure, friendship and family love.A series of strange events bound Sgt. Windflower to investigate putting his life at risk. The good thing is that he knows that he can count on Eddie Tizzard and the gang when difficulties and problems arise. This is the first book I read in the series and I will certainly look for the others. I recommend it. Entertainment guaranteed!

A treat for all the fiction and mystery lovers
A story filled with mystery, thrill, and warmth of raw human emotions. Sgt. Windflower finds himself embroiled in an investigation, which soon takes an unexpected turn. I enjoyed reading this mystery thriller and loved how the author developed the story. The author brilliantly included the family support of the protagonist which adds an emotional element to the story. The Windflower’s bond with his friend, Eddie Tizzard, and other gang members also contributes to the emotional element and solving of the mystery. All the characters are penned down beautifully and with proper details. It is a treat for all the fiction and mystery lovers, I would strongly suggest they read this masterpiece. It is one of its kind and worth money and time.

Another Job Well-Done
Sgt. Windflower series has been a consistently good read for me. One thing I like about them is they lack that nitty gritty crime aspect and paint a full life picture for the characters. While the plot primarily focuses on the murder mystery that Windflower is requested to help with as a favor (with the familiar cast of characters to help him out), we also get to read about his family/home life. A unique aspect of Windflower's books is his "dreamland" adventures, but this is often my least favorite part of the series. That said, I enjoyed it more on this one for some reason, although the rabbit was a little too Windflower in Wonderland for me in places. Overall, a solid, enjoyable new book following the characters lives and careers further.

a treasure
I love these books centered in the Canadian Grand Banks, Newfoundland, and Iceland, probably because I live in the high plains desert in the southwestern US and rarely see snow. Or water...This is a good tale, complex enough to keep you guessing, peopled with folks you like and perhaps even know, and with a true feel of the place that takes you there. I'm glad Martin is a prolific author - this is number 12 of a series, Sgt Windflower Mysteries, and every book I have read from this author has been a treasure. I am pleased to recommend Mike Martin to friends and family.

Dangerous Waters: The Sgt. Windflower Mystery Series Book 12
Finishing the book was a little difficult for me, as it was a light mystery. It was easy for me to read and didn’t jump around characters and situations, like other books. I classify it as in a diary form, and I like a book I can’t put down. For me, not so much.
