I have gone through several motion lights on our dock and none have lasted long. I have great hope for this light in that environment. The materials and construction were just what I was looking for. Time will tell on the long life, but all looks good so far.

Easy to install, great motion detection, battery charges well. Still works after cloudy day without sun, bright and great price. You cant beat this solar light for its price to quality comparison. 5 stars all day long.... and night too!

Lights DIDNT work

The TFKK 100W outdoor solar motion sensing light makes a nice security light. It is very bright at full brightness and adds a nice splash of light to an area at night when it is in more of a standby mode. It includes a mounting base, three screws and anchors and instructions. It actually has three modes that you can set either with the button located on the fixture or with the wireless remote. Mode one is purely motion sensing and comes on for 20 seconds when motion is detected at night. Mode two is low light at night but full brightness for 20 seconds when motion is detected. And Mode three is low light at night without motion sensing. The unit comes with the mounting arm folded onto the light. I was concerned that I was going to break it when I tried to extend it. There was a lot of resistance. I thought there must be a latch that I was not seeing. But I looked at the instructions, and it did not mention anything about the arm or any real detail about the mounting bracket. So, I pulled harder and it made this snap-snap-snap-snap-snap sound and unfolded just fine. The sounded came from ridges that are molded into the arm hinge. This allows you to tilt the lamp down at varying degrees, and it will hold the angle because of these ridges. But it seems odd that the only adjustment is to tilt it down. This will angle it into the wall on which it is mounted. It would be more useful if it could be angled up so that it would shine farther out from the wall. The other thing that is unexpected is the way the mounting base works. It is designed so that you mount the base to the wall with three screws and then slide the arm of the fixture into the base. I was expecting that I would slide the arm down into the base so that gravity would hold it in place. However, this is designed so that you slide it sideways into the base. This is actually a very good idea because it means there is more material on top holding the arm and it is less likely to break. The base has three screws. So, which way do you mount it? I think you should position it with the two screws on top and one screw on the bottom. I think there is more stress on the upper part of the base, so two screws would distribute that stress more effectively. This appears to be a tough little unit. The plastic seems thick enough to hold up to bad weather. The fact this is solar powered means there are no wires to run and no electric bills to pay. You just mount it in a sunny area, set the mode and forget it. That makes it so simple. I am very happy with this light.

So, I like that this item is simple and seems to be sturdy enough for outdoor use. The product is supposed to be weatherproof, and it has tight enough construction for this to be true. I ordered this product, and duplicates of it, to use in a large backyard rural setting where there is no electricity to use to run a typical wired light. These lights are a good price and are a good fit for my type of use. I will also be putting up one on each end of the house to light those areas up, rather than trying to run electrical wire. I am looking at this as a low cost and easy to install option for lighting outside. I like that the solar panel is on the back of the light, less parts to hook up and mount. The mounting bracket is sturdy, and I think it should hold up to the windstorms we get. I was careful to mount the light where tree debris would be less likely to strike it from above, I think it would be too much stress for the unit and I would expect something to break. I do think that these are great for on the side of a building, or a post on the perimeter of the yard, or on a gate post at a gate for a fence. The instructions were a little tough to figure out, all the words were there to describe the workings, just did not seem too intuitive. That could be me though, someone else might pick it up right away. I had trouble figuring out how to get the light in the configuration I wanted, which was the lower amplification brightness for 20 second duration after activation. I did get it figured out and really like the function and brightness of this product. For me it is great, do not have to run more wiring, inexpensive unit, and the remote is nice to be able to mount the unit and then change the configuration as wanted or needed. I also like that it is compact but still provides good illumination. I like this product so much that I ordered multiple units after the first one came in.
