I bought two mosaic art kits. Both packagings are great, and come with everything you need to complete the craft projects. We did it together as a parent-child activity is a great bonding experience. My kid has put one of her favorite photos in it to decorate her room. And the glass candle holder turns out to be nice too! Will buy again as the gift for Mother's Day.

The frame in this kit is made from Balsa wood. It's thick and sturdy, but still balsa wood. It comes with everything you need to make the frame as displayed. The age range of 6 and up seems right. However the issue with this is the leg on the back is too short and the frame will not stand up on its own in either position. See the attached picture. It should look like the second picture, of a different frame I have. I will be editing the leg to make it work. At the $15 price tag, this would be a 4.5 stars if not for that defect. Instead, it's a 2 bc a frame that does not stand is worthless.

I was excited to get this DIY mosaic frame, but I was not impressed by the packaging. When I got it the box itself was very dusty, and I had a feeling that the contents inside were probably opened. Sure enough upon opening the packaging there was powder grout everywhere. I mean I was able to collect the residual grout, but it made a big mess to try and clean up.

This is a gift for a child of a friend of mine. She loves doing arts and crafts projects and this will be a new project for her. I wanted to open it up and check it out before gifting it to her.This kit contains everything needed to complete this project. The final frame can be used in a vertical or horizontal orientation. It holds either a 5x7 or 4x6, both of which are pretty standard sizes.The tiles are a variety of colors. The frame itself is wood and seems well made. You can dry arrange the tiles into a layout you like. Once you have that done, you can go back and use the included glue to stick the tiles to the wood photo frame. Once dried, you can then mix up the included grout that goes in-between each piece of tile and creates the background so none of the wood frame will show. The kit includes the grout, the spreader tool, and after the grout is added, there's a sponge to wipe off any residual grout from the tile face. Once cured, it's usable.I think most kids like seeing things they create themselves, so I can see both boys and girls using this and feeling proud of something they made. Based on the contents of the kit and the quality of the materials, I can highly recommend this.

Got this for my 8 year old. Looks like a fun kit. Frame is wood with a plastic cover. Colored tiles are ceramic, and comes with the glue and plaster. Looks easy to do. Nice gift. Will update when we finish the project.

This kit is fun and a fun way to do a craft and frame a pic. This was given as a gift and appreciated.
