GREAT FOR A PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO TRIPOD IN EXTREME CLIMATES FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST: VERY STRONGSTRONG, DURABLE, LIGHT, TALL INDUSTRIAL TRIPOD: REPURPOSED FOR SHOOTING PHOTOGRAPHY IN EXTREME CLIMATESEXPERIENCE IN INDUSTRY:My background in construction is based on designing and building large-scale footprints in Experiential Marketing (production, creative, and producing) and commercial Photography, using endless tripods.STARS: 5VALUE:Based on the tripod's design quality and CNC manufacturing, I needed help finding a budget tripod with these features below $90.BEST FEATURE:Very Light.It's an excellent strap for travel.Easy adjustment of all tripod points, no break-in period.It doubles as a tripod for commercial Photography, heavy lights, 180-degree shooting straight down, and extreme environments where a traditional tripod would fail.Anything you put on a traditional tripod can be repurposed with this beast for a fraction of the cost of a NEW carbon fiber tripod.Indestructible.Ruler:I was just in my storage unit last night, and it was VERY handy to measure a case (I could not find my 25-foot tape measure).Very easy to read, STRONG comes with a nice red case, a small pocket for bolts, and very clear numbers.IT JUST WORKS.WORST FEATURE:No bag for extreme environments.SHIPPING & PACKAGING FROM MANUFACTURE:Great packaging, no issues with foam protection from OEM or Amazon.MANUFACTURING QUALITY OF PRODUCT:Design, quality, CNC manufacturing, and the colors used are great value for your price point.PROS:Working as a commercial photographer, I was looking for a heavy tripod to use multiple heads in extreme environments for shooting time lapses in severe weather.It's indestructible, and you will NOT have to worry about any aspect of the tripod breaking.It is lightweight, so if you have to walk a mile or two with it slung across your back, it would not bother you.Twist lock for all tripod points is easy and seamless.There are no sticking points, the pivot is made from heavy plastic, and your secondary locking points are well-constructed and easy to use.The aluminum construction has a coating that will last a long time and is easy to clean up; smooth on bare hands.Easy to use with thick work gloves in any environment.It is light enough not to bother you on a mile hike and heavy enough not to need sandbags for stability.The dual construction of the tripod legs on the top is one of my favorite features because it ensures that you will not lose your grip and has a smooth finish that will last a long time.Depending on the surface, you're on very sharp pegs and a perfectly placed point to drive stability into the ground with your heel. (This was my favorite feature shooting on ICE in -10-degree weather over the weekend.)CONS:No 5/8 adapter is included for the top structure (this is something you would purchase on your own).No integrated level.SETUP TIME & TOOLS:Depending on your height, with proper adjustments, it takes 5 to 10 minutes.TIPS & TRICKS:I bought this solely to use it as an industrial-size, robust, heavy tripod for shooting time lapses in extreme weather on a frozen lake.A traditional photography tripod of this strength and construction would cost several hundred dollars.By purchasing one single adapter, you can attach any 3/8 or 1/4 tripod head for a wide diversity of shooting.I purchased two tripods to create a jig system where I'm shooting 180° down for product reviews and utilizing them in my studio for other projects.Tripod looks GREAT in pictures behind the scenes.BRANDING & MARKETING:From novices to commercial contractors with 30 years of experience, they have various survey tools that will solve any challenge you present them.SECOND GENERATION:Optional aluminum ionized twist locks and a more significant lock mechanism for the legs are L-shaped vs. round.Integrated bubble Level into the tripod base or an adapter. (I only say this because I've seen levels with an integrated leveling system. However, if you put any quality tripod head, 90% WILL have levels vertically and horizontally, typically on a three-point system.RECOMMENDATION FOR FUTURE PRODUCTS:After looking at their Amazon page, they have several versions of this tripod, depending on your needs.CLOSING THOUGHTS:If you're looking for a cheap, strong, light, functional tripod with great colors for commercial Photography- a commercial surveying tripod that can be repurposed for Photography at a fraction of the cost with a simple adapter- look no further.WHY YOU WILL VALUE MY PHILOSOPHY PERSPECTIVE:I'm always looking for tools from other industries to solve challenges shooting in extreme environments. This kit has most of what you need to take accurate remote measurements.The tripod legs are tall and have foldable spikes so it can be stable on soft surfaces.There’s a small level included to make sure the top is level, nothing special but a nice touch.There is also a 9 foot telescoping measuring stick with large-print numbers included, which I found very useful.Overall a solid kit!
