Teva Men's Original Universal Sandal

I loved my old Zirras and wore them to death. They're still good but the tread is worn down. That version had no Velcro. I liked the pull through buckles on that model that tightened up the front and the ankle all in one fell swoop. Wish they'd bring that back. Also I liked that there was nothing touching the middle of my foot to scratch or rub. These can be laced that way, see last picture. I may take a razor blade and cut off the tab in the inside if I find I like them laced this way (with the toe piece run straight back through the ankle strap.). These are the next best thing to my Zirras. If you like that minimal strap on the Zirra make sure to look closely at the strap picture. Some are woven and patterned and they are very scratchy (I tried one of those a few years back). I got the dark spruce which is simple and plain (and soft). There are several other colors with that plain soft strap. I have a low volume foot and low arches so I was surprised the Velcro on the ankle "tail" came right up to the loop even on me. You can pass it through the loop if you need to but you'll have a lot of exposed Velcro on the outside. Fit is identical to my old ones. There is considerably more toe spring (where the toe points up off the ground.) But it might just be because my old ones are so worn down. See picture for comparison.

***Update: I have had these a year now and still LOVE them! They are starting to show their age a tiny bit but I use them constantly from March-November and I have not been gentle with them as mentioned below. Based off the superficial wear and tear on them halfway through their second summer, I figure I will get at least 3 summers of use out of them, they are definitely sturdy and well made. When these eventually die I will 10000% get another pair.*Original review: Let me start by saying I have very oddly shaped feet lol. I got them scanned at a running store once and every measurement was at the far end of their average spectrum. So while my length measures around a size 5.5-6 I'm in the 95th percentile for width so I usually have to wear a 7-7.5 wide shoe. All that to say this sandal is the best for my extra wide feet! And I tried around a dozen different pairs of similar sandles before finding these.I've had these about 3 months and I have put them to the test! Few days after purchase I spent 4 days in Vegas wearing these the whole time and walking 20,000+ steps a day around the strip. No blisters! And although my feet did hurt at the end of the day it was tired hurt from walking way more than usual and not the shoes fault. Next we did 3 days at Disneyland with days near 30,000 steps (one day was 15 miles of walking!). Again no blisters! I pretty much wear these anytime I'm not at work where I'm required to wear closed toed shoes since I got them. And after all the crazy use I've given them the last 3 months and they barely show any wear! Very very happy with this purchase! They are lightweight but still tough and comfortable. I also like that you can adjust both the ankle straps and the toe strap so people with weirdly shaped feet like me can adjust these easily.

I already had several pairs of this brand/style, so it came as no surprise how comfortable and supportive they are, but the all-black was a bonus. This style of Teva is perfect in every way with all of the adjustable straps, ease of cleaning, and great looks.

Holding up great so far! I had only one shot at ordering sandals for my family to bring me while I'm here in the Peace Corps, and I am very pleased so far. I've been wearing these for 3 months now walking on gravel, sand, mud and scalding pavement. The rubber sole is comfortable and the straps fall comfortably, for the most part, across my feet. I had to develop a callus on the top of my pinkie toe due to where the strap sits, and it still is a bit uncomfortable and blisters if I am walking all day. What I love about the straps is that they allow my little bunions to e free! It is hard to find sandals that do not have some sort of strap touching there, and I ordered these specifically because it appeared that they didn't. I was right.The color of the straps has not faded at all even though they have been wet a few times. I like the little loop on the heel because it allows me to hang up the sandals to keep the critters, and my puppy from getting them.With all of the use I have subjected these sandals to, they still look great and have no signs of falling apart. Of course the soles are wearing down a bit, but each step has been comfortable on my arches and also my foot bones. There is a great support, but also enough give in the rubber to absorb the shock.I wish I would have originally come down here with these because I've gone through 5 other pairs of $20 sandals. On a Peace Corps budget, It was a risk spending a bit more for these sandals, but the quality will save me money in the long run.

Wore them out of the box all day long the first day. Great support, good quality and user comfortable. I even managed well on a 5K walk with my two big GSP dogs. True to size but not if you have super narrow feet, since straps are only so adjustable. Almost too wide for me and I am typically medium width. Would buy again! 🥰

I took a huge chance and bought these shoes right before leaving on a solo trip to Nicaragua on which I was taking only a backpack and needed a shoe that would go with everything and be comfortable. I was worried since the only time I wore them before leaving was trying them on the night before I left. I’m happy to say, I wore these shoes almost the entire trip, had zero discomfort, walked through water, jungles, wore them with a couple summer dresses, shorts, and had no issues - just comfortable feet and cute shoes. I’m a size 8, sometimes an 8.5, but I went with the 8 and I’m glad I did. Definitely buy these shoes - they go with everything!
