The Saint (Gaunt’s Ghosts)

Absolutely Phenomenal
I can't begin to express what a masterpiece this omnibus is. Each individual book is great, but taken as a whole, and crowned with the master work The Saint, is one of the greatest reading experiences I've ever had. The last book, the crowning jewel, had me literally shouting out loud in surprise, in shock, in joy, in rage, in despair. Every critique I had about the previous omnibus has been obliterated and I can honestly say this is one of the best works of military science fiction I've ever read, 40k or not. Absolute must read.

Powerful
Great character and plot development. Micro and Macro tactics were sound. I also cried. Fantastic book that on its own completely justifies reading the series.

Abnett never disappoints
Though Abnett has a penchant for reusing some plottwists, his writing never fails. It's sublime. It has astonished me how greedily I've devoured both this and the previous omnibus, but that's just how good they are. If you like 40k you'll love this series.

Thrilling and deeply moving
It is truly a privilege to follow along with Colonel-Commissar Gaunt and his soldiers on their adventures - but very sad to leave some old friends behind...

Decent collection, excellent ending
I read the first omnibus which was a little confusing. The third book made me continue reading. This omnibus had a far more linear and understandable plot, bringing back all the characters we know and love. The first two books were okay, Sabbat Martyr was the crowning achievement with the Ghosts once again pitted against invincible odds. I will definitely continue reading.

Great Series
I stumbled upon this series on Amazon one day and figured why not give it a try. Well it's blown me away with the style of writing and the details on what the Tanith went through in the rigors of combat.

Great book to continue on the series
The book continues on Gaunts adventure in the crusade. The book was delivered in as published quality and the story continued the quality that Dan Abnett has been producing.

Well-written page turner with a huge cast
Just as epic as Game of Thrones - pretty good for lore based on a table top game. The endings of each book in the omnibus is a tad rushed while the author wraps up all the plot points, but still they are satisfying in a light reading kind of way. Nothing deep here and can't compare to LOTR, but is still pretty decent sci-fi/fantasy.

The epic tale of Gaunt’s Ghosts continues in The Saint as they defend humanity in the W40K Universe.
Continuing on from The Founding, the epic saga continues for Gaunt’s Ghosts in The Saint as they defend humanity against massed foes from across the W40K Universe. The author Dan Abnett, continues to immerses the reader into the W40K Universe.

You like the Gaunt's Ghosts series?
Then read this collection, no spoilers but... there is a bit of fighting in the pages, characters you like doing things you like and sometimes they die which most will not like. Enjoy

One of the greatest Warhammer 40k series ever penned.
This is the 2nd collected omnibus in the Gaunt's Ghost series, collecting the 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th novels as well as a few selected short stories all of which make up "The Saint" Sequence of the series. One of the greatest strengths of this series, is that the author, Dan Abnett, really takes his time to develop his characters and stories over a succession of novels, and is never afraid to take his characters into places that will bring out strong emotions from the readers. This willingness and skill in how he handles his characters is one of the reasons this series of books is favourably compared to Bernard Cornwall's Sharpe series, and IMHO, rightly so.Whenever I recommend any Black Library 40k novels, this series is always the first of my top two recommendations.
