Great Book!
This review is from: One Minute Manager Salesperson (The One Minute Manager) (Paperback)I bought several of the 'One Minute Manager' books a couple of years ago from Amazon, including this one. They are indeed an excellent read with some fine insights on to how to solve management and business related problems. I did buy this book from Amazon - but I realise I should not have done. I should have ordered it from my local book store and been content to Why? Not because of the price - he can't possibly compete with Amazon either on price or delivery. But he does pay tax in the United Kingdom. He doesn't use tax shelters or transfer pricing or any of the perfectly legal but ethically inexcusable methods that Amazon uses in order to avoid paying corporate taxes on its profits in this country and others. My local book seller is an honest hard working business man, he deserves my support.Note to Amazon - you can delete this, but it will be posted elsewhere.PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE OF TAXES!

Recommended to me during management training
Recommended to me during management training. Its a good book with great concepts. I just feel that its written for dinosaurs in the industry who need basic things simplified for them.

Situation Leadership from the employee perspective
Whilst the original One Minute Manager title focussed on how to Manage others effectively, and much of the series has followed suit; this title seeks to look upon the models from the perspective of the individual. See this as Situational Leadership from the perspective of the person being Managed. As with all titles the key points are recapped well and theories are set out and explained in a language that is easy to access for all. This title is one for a person who finds themself ineffective in changed situations and struggles to break through. Whilst this is not a book about Change itself, really the focus here is on recognising self-development needs and getting them fulfilled, it does have a role to play in the respect that our needs change as situations do.A recommended text.

Very readable and useful
A worthwhile read with lots of things to take away about how to be a great professional and manager. It uses a different approach to writing a self-help management book by telling a story about someone, which was a really effective method and made it very readable.

Practical and relatable advice for anyone
Even the most experienced of us get side swiped by assuming that the ‘new’ work situation is in our back catalogue of experiences. This accessible, quick to read advice is a great help for realising that it’s only by taking responsibility for ourselves we can move forward and it gives you the all important ‘how to’ for action.I bought this ages ago as I am a fan of the One Minute Manager, and I firmly believe i am the answer as well as creator of my problems. I turned to it to help me with my transition to a consulting career when I was stuck at the disillusioned learner phase.

An enjoyable way to learn some valuable leadership tools
I needed to learn about situational leadership quickly and this book was perfect for that. The tools are presented systematically and in a way that makes them easy to grasp. The tone of the story was a bit too Disney (a serious message delivered through quaint characters and a guaranteed happy ending) for my taste, but it did the job.
