doesn't work as expected
This product is supposed to be able to detect metal objects that could be buried a few inches in the ground...it only detects iron/steel objects from about a half inch away. It does not detect coins or rings, I dropped a few coins on the floor and it passed right over them and it did not detect my rings when I held my hand up to it. I am very disappointed in this product.

Did not beep as supposed to. Calibration was impossible due to lack of beeper working. Not very effective

Does not work
My son was very excited to get this toy from Santa for Christmas but was very disappointed when it didn't work...at all. It cannot distinguish between a BIG metal object sitting right in front of it and a coin right below it. There are different sensitivity buttons you can turn but you basically have to turn the one just to keep it from saying there is metal. And then you need to turn the volume down or the thing keeps beeping.

Wouldn't purchase
I ordered two but only received one. It took forever to get my refund not to mention I had to tell one of my two nephews they had to ask the other to share his on Christmas day. Pretty lousy feeling.

Major bummer. Got this for my sons birthday, ...
Major bummer. Got this for my sons birthday, he ran around the park trying to find anything.... It detected the metal play structure but that was about it.
