PEOPLE NEW TO VINYL, don't buy into these cheap, briefcase-type record players. Do some more research.
If you are thinking of getting into vinyl, please don't make the same mistake I did and think that these portable record players are any good. If you're going to take the time to take out a record, place it down and turn it over, then surely connecting the record player to some speakers shouldn't be an issue. I'd strongly advise reading "Top Ten" articles. There you can find out which are the renowned brands and then you can figure out which one best suits your price range. I'd also recommend watching YouTube videos to see how they sound. For the sake of having a good vinyl experience, I'd suggest adding an extra £40 or so to your budget.Everything about this is terrible. The sound immediately sounded flat. The balance was off and the stylus isn't quick enough to respond, so the key would go down a semitone and then go back to normal as the record rotated. This was more noticeable on the tracks at the outside of the record, since that part hangs off the side. The sound system itself is appalling. The bass and overall balance isn't very good. It can get pretty loud but it does sound slightly distorted when played at higher volumes. Its headphone connection is not great either. You can only really hear anything when you turn it up halfway, but you get some sharp moments of sound as the out-of-balance record gets closer to the stylus as it rotates. When the volume is turned low the sound comes out of the speakers anyway. The whole thing is flimsy. The lid looks very heavy for the cheap hinges they have on it, so I imagine it wouldn't take long until one of those gave in to the weight. The arm doesn't seem very sturdy, and the switch to raise and lower it looks like it could bend and snap as easily as a paperclip. I've since noticed that several of these briefcase-type record players use the same parts. The one thing I did like about it was its quirky design, but since finding out that many of these portable turntables are made using general parts, following a similar design, it made me realise that these things are no different in quality to selfie sticks, phone cases and all that "Keep Calm and Carry On" stuff. These manufacturers do not care about providing a good musical experience, they are just trying to make a quick profit on a current trend. I even tried searching for Denver on Google and couldn't find any results.I'm writing this because I don't want you to have the same experience I did trying out vinyl for the first time. Consider raising your budget and looking at record players that need to be connected to an external speaker. The sound on a cheap, portable record player is not going to be great. Also, something worth considering is finding one with a sturdy base, where the record can lay flat and not hang off the edge.

Good value for money
Purchased this and set it up very easily. Great colour and it is small enough to sit on the side without standing out. Got some old vinyl out and tried it straight away. Was a bit sceptical about the sound when i saw how small the unit was but i was not dissapointed. The sound is great, obviously not top class but you get what you pay for and i think the sound of playing vinly records again is great. Spent all the next day digging out my albums and playing them one after another. Good value for money

Super happy with this player
Absolutely delighted with this little player. The sound isnt pitch perfect, but thats easily remedied by attaching good speakers. I cant fault it for the price, its a lovely little machine it really is.I did have to balance a penny on the head at first to stop it from jumping, but as soon as it had worn in a little it now works perfectly with every album ive played, without the penny trick. Its not auto return, meaning when the album stops turning the arm doesnt return to its holder ...reminds me of the player i had as a kid..how very accurately retro! If you are looking to just play your vinyl again or want to get someone into vinyl then dont hesitate to buy this, its brilliant.

If its a xmas present, be careful as pic printed in box.
The record player looks lovely and hopefully plays well. My only grumble is normally I get a huge box even if I order something small. I bought this for a christmas present and it came in a box with a picture of the record player printed on the box. It isn't a surprise now as my daughter saw it when I bought it in. But a lovely retro looking record player.

Good product all round
For a relatively cheap item this looks good, sounds ok, and is easy to set up and use. It was delivered efficiently and worked well first time. It is still working fine after two weeks of use. We have lots of fun playing vinyl on it. I don't have the expertise to comment on the finer points of the sound quality, but it seems good enough for a cheapish product.

Even old 78's sounded good
I bought this after reading lots of reviews on similar record players. All reviews had good points and bad, however this one stood out from the others and at a very reasonable price I decided to go for it. So glad I did, very pleased with it, arrived sooner than expected, my records sound just like when I first bought them before you could adjust the bass, even the old 78's I possess sounded pretty good, found that to play these to the end of the record you need to switch off the auto stop, but that's no real problem. Would definitely recommend.

Bit disappointed
It was a surprise Christmas gift for my daughter unfortunately there was no packaging just a label stuck to the product box which had pictures of what was inside splattered all over it. My daughter was in received the parcel no surprise for Christmas! Not happy. The record player itself is good for the lower end of the market although one of the speakers doesn't sit quite neatly and the finish isn't spotless I could have just been unlucky the sound is good so for the money, disappointed in the finish but the sound quality is good

Over the moon!
This record player may only be small but you know what they say about size - it's the quality that matters! This really is a super record player with a good sound and a volume I'll never use to the full. A USB cable is supplied should you wish to connect to a PC/Laptop and using the software provided record and convert all your old singles and LPs to mp3s. If you're looking for a Christmas pressie for your parents/grandparents who have a collection of vinyls then you won't go far wrong especially at the price it's currently at - an absolute bargain!
