Best Money I've Ever Spent, Better than Advertised
I really don't think I've ever been so happy with a purchase, PERIOD. I made sure to wait at least 2 weeks before writing my review to make sure the bonsai both arrived healthy and stayed that way after the shipment process and whatnot. The first picture I've included is how my bonsai looks now, well over two weeks after it arrived, and all those after are sequential throughout the past few weeks!I searched for a while on Amazon for the perfect bonsai-- I'm in medical school, so really wanted one to have something in my bedroom which is calming, natural and grounding like a bonsai to help with the stress. I have a cat, so had to do some searching for a species which isn't toxic to animals, and landed on a Fukien. I also wanted to purchase a bonsai which was already fairly tall/aged so that I could appreciate it right away and increase the chances of it surviving with me!First off, the bonsai was packed impeccably, by which I mean I was astonished to see that not a single leaf had fallen during shipping and even all of its beautiful, little white flowers were still perfectly intact. I thought that surely it would have sustained some kind of damage during shipping, but this company clearly takes great care in ensuring their plants make it to their destination safe.Second, the product photos provided in the description do it NO JUSTICE! The tree was far more beautiful than I ever imagined right out of the box, and even was in bloom with small white flowers. I assumed that it would be untrimmed and I'd have to prune it to make it look like the stock photo, but it came out of the box exactly as it is now-- I did nothing to it!Specifics after unpacking my sweet lil' bonsai:The bonsai comes in the plastic soil planter as pictured in the stock photos. I bought the planter in my photos off of Amazon at the same time (a 10" diameter draining planter), as I wanted a larger, more aesthetically pleasing planter for my bonsai to live in long term. I did some reading on bonsai and found that they need good drainage capabilities to do well, so I also bought cactus/succulent soil (high drainage soil type) at Lowe's to pack the rest of the area around the planter. The plastic container it arrives in is 6" tall and the planter I bought is 5" tall, and I actually love the way it made the bonsai appear as if it were on its own little island after packing the soil around it (I wanted to be sure to not disturb its existing root system at all, so I cut away the plastic and planted it totally intact). Then I bought some lapis lazuli pebbles off of amazon to look like water surrounding it, as well as the cute little figurine! In the first few days, I got nervous because some of the leaves started turning yellow and falling off, so I was worried I'd under-watered or damaged it during potting, or that it couldn't survive the shipping process. However, after about 3 days of yellow leaves coming and going, it's now all green, looking great, and has tons more little white flower blooms! This is an unbeatable product, especially for the price of $50! I will 10000% be buying another bonsai from this company and would recommend it to anyone! I love it and look forward to years to come with it!

Great tree for the price
I've enjoyed this tree for the last 8 months or so. The tree I received was similar to what was pictured, although more beat up - this is no fault of the seller's, it was well packaged - when a tree gets shipped across the United States in a box during summer heat, then that should be expected. It was in sore need of water when I received it, with quite a few dead leaves and drooping shoots, although there were also plenty of healthy leaves left. The trunk is about the size of my finger - so about 5/8 of an inch in diameter, and the tree was 10 inches tall.Anyway, prior to shipping I think the tree was in good health, and I don't think it carried any insect pests. After a week or so in an east-facing window and plenty of watering the tree started putting on new growth and producing flowers. After about a month of growth, removing dead leaves/shoots, and some pruning (I reduced the height a bit) it looked very similar to what is pictured. It has grown and flowered continuously for the last several months (it slowed down during the coldest winter months, when my home is considerable colder). Cuttings root easily. As an experiment, I tried rooting some of the shoots and have had good luck - I simply stuck the pruned shoots in a well-draining bonsai soil type mix and put a plastic bag over the top to create humidity, and maybe 75% have taken.I only gave it a three-star rating for 'Easy to grow' - again, this isn't a fault of the sellers, who provided a good product. I just thought I'd add my voice to others about how this species can be finicky so I don't consider it an easy species to grow - it does not handle drought well. One reason I bought this "mallsai" on a whim was that I had a very similar tree, my first bonsai, several years ago, which I loved, and thought I'd give it another try now that I have more bonsai experience. I left my first tree in the care of a friend while on (fairly short) vacation and came back to a crispy tree. Not the fault of the friend, I left poor instructions. Anyway, I think most other species would have handled the lack of water better, and even since having this tree and more bonsai experience, I've found it with drooping shoots a couple times - Fukien Tea just can't be allowed to dry out for very long at all. In contrast, portulucaria afra or crassula spp. are definitely easy to grow and handle drought well (or even appreciate drought), so if one wants an easy-to-grow, can-be-neglected species, I'd recommend one of those. But with consistent monitoring and water, this is a great species for bonsai.

Very Healthy, Large Trunk, New Growth, Flowers, Nearly Identical to the Pictures!!
This is the perfect Bonsai for what I needed. I am in the learning phase of Bonsai and did not want to start from scratch. I received a very healthy plant. The soil was wrapped with plastic and bow tied to keep the soil in place and the moisture level high. The box was then stuffed with packing peanuts. I was shocked at how large the trunk is and how much beautiful new foliage is present. The trunk has several bends, no wire marks, and is firmly held within the blue oval pot I received.+ Inexpensive Considering the Health/Quality/Age of the Plant and the Pot+ Received in Perfect Condition with 1 Leaf in the Box+ Basic Care Instructions- One Broken Branch (Not broken recently, can see the break occurred some time ago, held in place by a wire) no big deal_Bottom Line_ Yes, I would recommend this Bonsai to a friend. I am purchasing a humidity tray separately as this is a tropical plant and needs high humidity to thrive. The instructions are fairly basic but a quick search of Fukien Tea will yield many useful results. I am more the 100% satisfied with this plant. It looks beautiful, pest and disease free, and even unboxing was exciting. This Bonsai really is healthy and has at least as many leaves as in the pictures. This is NOT just a sad cutting; this Fukien Tea is a strong Bonsai ready for care. 5 Stars Easy!
