Perfect for day trips.
This was a last minute purchase for a recent trip abroad, and turned out to be a indispensable item. Firstly, when packed into the pouch, it's very small and hardly weighs anything. It comes with a small metal clip that you can attach to a backpack or whatever, and seems quite sturdy but I never used it. Once it's out and ready to use, it's got a surprising amount of space inside. This isn't a full sized backpack, and it isn't as structured or padded like a regular backpack, but that's not to say it's flimsy or cheap feeling. The zippers feel sturdy and the shoulder straps are much more comfortable than anticipated. They're also easily adjustable. I've got big, wide shoulders and used this on a 30km bike ride with a DSLR, 2 full water bottles and a jacket stuffed into it and was totally fine, no issues. Keep in mind that if you put something with hard edges in this, you're going to feel it against your back for sure. I got around that by putting in a camera bag insert to keep my camera from jiggling around, which also added some extra padding and structure to it at the same time. I had packed light, so this bag worked wonderfully for day trips biking and walking. If you're concerned about how it's all wrinkled up and weird looking once it's out of the pouch, the wrinkles fall out naturally after a couple hours and it just looks like a normal backpack. Putting it back inside the pouch takes about 30 seconds and is super easy. Highly recommended.

BEST travel pack, EVER!
What a perfect backpack for travel! Instead of using a bulky carry-on for my trip to central America, I opted to take a backpack that I could also use during my adventures. I read several reviews on other backpacks, including this one. I decided I wanted a lightweight pack that would hold up to the weight I would be carrying on my journey. This pack surpassed all other packs for several reason; it is lightweight, compact & folds back up into itself, has enough pockets to keep my things separate, & this pack is very durable as well as water resistant (if you are caught in a severe rainstorm or plan to snorkel while wearing the pack, your things will get wet) Hahaha! The zippers are fully functional & never snagged or caught on loose strings as there were no loose string on this pack! WOOHOO for great manufacturing & attention to detail! Though the straps are adjustable & very flexible, they are also very sturdy. I was hesitant to buy this pack not due to any negative reviews but due to the fact that the pack was reviewed as being so lightweight & flexible. With these qualities in other packs, I have found them to be very poorly assembled, flimsy, & not durable for long periods. That is NOT the case with this pack. I purchased the black one & the design is good. It has a large (main) pocket which easily held my Grayl water bottle. You can look that one up & see it it a full size bottle with a filter. I was also able to carry snacks, a sweatshirt, flip flops, a pair of leggings, a notebook, my money belt (you can't wear it through security/customs screening so to avoid everyone seeing me take it off, it was best to simply pack it then put it on later, & a Dakine pouch purse that you wear over your head, on your shoulder. In that I had a wallet & more snacks. I still had room for quite a bit more. In the middle pouch I carried my flight itinerary & a word find book & pen. In the front pouch I only carried my airline tickets & passport. There are also 2 webbed pouches on the side of the backpack which could carry a water bottle or other similar size item. The pack I bought looks identical to the picture shown & again, I bought it in black. The pack has a black on black design which means the pack is black & has a black design on it. The pack is not flashy & due to it being so light weight & compact, should you choose to unpack it & stay wherever you are going for a considerable length of time or even to put it away for storage, it easily fold/stuffs back into its own pocket. There is no separate cover/holder for this pack. As mentioned before, it very easily rolls back up into a usable pocket. Also as mentioned before, I was really skeptical (as was my outdoor enthusiest husband) that this pack would meet my needs. It not only met but surpassed my needs! I am really glad I came across this pack & I am grateful to the manufacturers for taking their time in creating & refining a product that is durable & very easy to use & store.
