perfect replacement when chords are failing frequently
on average I have to replace my power chord for my macbook air because the wires get warped to the point they don't charge this on the other hand I and less worried about the chord failing because unlike the others that have a long chord that has to be coiled up this is much shorter with less likely of fraying especially at the edges

Works great, good visual feedback
I bought this when I was traveling and left my apple charger at a friend's house. Now I leave my apple charger plugged in at home, and keep this in my travel bag. The magnetic connector has a light to let you know if you're fully charged. The USB port is great and it's very nicely portable.. I always plug it into a portable surge protector just to protect my equipment. Together they work great for being out and about. Fits into any outlet without taking up more than one outlet with the profile of the plugs.

1 year lifespan
The charger worked wonderfully for 1 year. Then suddenly I heard a “chirping sound”… yes chirping. Discovered it was my laptop charger while plugged into the outlet. It was not charging the laptop and was hot/had a burning smell. I always kept my charger plugged in to the socket for convince. I purchased another charger and plan to only plug into outlet when needed.. hopefully to preserve lifespan. Only issue I had.

Compré este cargador pq el original se peló el cable. Muy buena opción ya que si carga mi macBook air del 2014 y además carga muy bien cualquier otro dispositivo

WOW! This might be the best thing I've bought from Amazon this year.
Road warrior here. I don't know where to start about this charger. First of all, I've hit the road and forgotten my laptop charger so many times over the past 10 years, and I've ended up having to buy a new expensive applw charger more times than I'd like to admit. Now that I've ditched my old MBP (with magsafe1) and upgraded to a MBair (with mini-magsafe2), I pulled the old charger out of my travel bag and of course ended up leaving without my new charger. Again. The hotel lost & found had a spare charger that got me through the first day, but they asked me to return it when I was done so it could go to its rightful owner. Fair enough. I was prepared to buy yet another new charger from Apple, but the thought of dropping $70, again, just rubbed me the wrong way. So I searched and found this charger and figured I'd take a chance for less than half the Apple price.I am 100% impressed and blown away with this charger! First of all, it's smaller than the MacBook Air charger, and its design will coexist in a power strip with other devices, unlike the Apple charger (without the extended cord.) The built-in USB1 charger port is icing on the cake: now when I'm on a flight, I can also charge other devices too. It's lightweight, compact, it doesn't heat up too much, it has the green/orange light. When you consider that I'd pay $10 for a MagSafe -> MiniMagSafe adapter just so I could use my old bulky chargers, and this costs $30 and is SO much more convenient to carry around. I'm going to buy a second one. I know this review sounds a little over the top, but I'm seriously extremely pleased with this purchase. I honestly believe it's superior to the Apple product. It's definitely worth every penny.

Works great, nice and compact
I've had this for about a month and it works perfectly. I have a Macbook Air (13-inch, mid 2012). Magnetically snaps right and stays there to charge. Does the job perfectly. The cord length is just right, not too long or too short to use on the go, or at my desk. What a difference in size too! I use my Macbook at a desk but often take it to meetings and church groups, so packing this up in a bag the size of my hand is incredible compared to all the cords and size of my old one. Overall very satisfied with the quality and performance.Saw some comments about it getting hot. The adapter gets a little warm if you've been charging for a long time and then unplug right away, but even then, "warm" is a better description and honestly, a bit expected for the amount of power it needs. If you are using your MacBook while it's plugged in, this is normal; even with the original power adapter, it got hot-but I've read that this habit is not necessarily good for the battery life anyways.

More compact
I like that is more compact for travel. Never did like the apple brick.

Finicky charging after 1+ year
This charger is great in all the ways other reviews have mentioned. Two drawbacks I'd like to add after owning this for almost 2 years:- the housing cracked after not too long; I would've expected it to be a bit more durable with normal use.- the connection has gotten quite finicky where the cable plugs into the block - I have to wiggle and spin it most of the time to get it to work. Sometimes I wonder if it's finally gone dead for good. Maybe cleaning the connections will fix it, but I haven't tried yet and may prove easier said than done. That being said, I'm currently looking into buying a replacement, and I would probably buy this again. But I would've expected it to be a little more robust to normal daily use. (I haven't done anything crazy or been particularly hard on it!)
