I rarely use any washers other than stainless anymore unless it is certain structural applications, or in direct contact with aluminum, where galvanic reaction can erode the aluminum. The obvious benefit is they don't rust and deteriorate if exposed to outdoor weather or other wet conditions.Stainless is also typically quite hard, often better than many common mild steel plated washers. So the hardware is generally reusable if you need to disassemble and reassemble anything periodically. And since there isn no plated coating like zinc or cadmium, it can't get scraped off by toothed or spring lock washers. There's very few downsides, except maybe added cost. Well, that's usually.These look as good as any. These I measured at 1.4mm/0.055" thick, so nominal thickness. They aren't individually marked "304" link some others, but I don't find it hard to tell a stainless from plated anyway. I guess that might matter if you mix them in with non-stainless and can't see the difference. For me, I keep stuff "bagged and tagged" in parts drawers, so I know which is what.But the big bonus here has to be price. I got the 180 pack of ¼" ID, and the unit cost is a fraction of $0.03/each. I've paid a lot more for the same size from other vendors, even buying bulk (I seem to use this size a lot, so I decided to try this brand out with ¼"). For that, I can afford to stock up on various sizes I use frequently and need on hand without spending a lot of money.One more thing: they can in a pretty nifty storage box with five compartments and a double snap lid lock. I will be keeping them in a parts bin because that's how I have a huge amount of hardware already organized. But I can use this little box for a variety of other things. So for me, the box is like a free bonus. In short, I'm super happy with this product, and will be stocking up now on other common sizes I use. Five stars from me.

good washer just a little soft

I always prefer to use stainless washers for any of my projects if a specific size that I need is available. So, it was nice to add this set of 1/4" washers to my personal stock. Stainless washers are always better than coated or painted ones for me since I don't have to worry about coating or paint to come off. Good quality product, and I am quite satisfied with the purchase.

They're metal, round, shiny, and come in a moderately nice case. Size was correct. Exactly what I needed.

Same quality as my local hardware store, and now I have a year’s supply. I can now avoid making a time-consuming trip to the store when I need couple more of my favorite size of washers. I’m good for many months of projects.
