Does not work as intended
Specifications were way off...the plunger did not slide in the spreader and got stuck. Being they were shipped 3000 miles and the vendor wanted me to pay return shipping for a $20 item, I kept them. Made them work by sanding the edges of the plunger with fine grit sandpaper. If you're not handy with tools you may want to avoid this item.

Great idea
I bought these for the very short native corn season in Maine and though I think the design could have been better these really helped control the butter mess that comes along with spreading it on corn on the cob.
