It's not the best quality item, but the kids love it and it's fun and easy to use.

I love claw machines, especially the Japanese ones so when I spotted these available I went for it. It's very easy to set up and I like the plushies that you get with it. It's slightly more limited than I expected but I ended up using them for a birthday gift and the little girl loved it.Pros- Easy to set up- They have nice plushie toys that work well with the claw- A nice surprise that besides batteries you can use USB to power them.- It's a simple, self-contained box with easy access to the interior.- The background reminds me of Disney's Little Mermaid.Cons- Music is slightly annoying but does have volume control- The up-down claw control works well but the left-right control is too simple being mechanical.- No 4-axis control, left-right horizontal movement only. It's more interactive if you can adjust far-near.- Feels like a missed opportunity for not having any sea-related plushies to win.

I got the mermaid version for my niece and a second dinosaur one for my nephew. We saw some of the big versions of these at an arcade and they were very fun for my niece and nephew, so once I saw these on Amazon I just had to get them. After trying them out I'm not fully convinced they are worth the asking price of $40. My niece and nephew however both have a bunch of fun with them, so I'm gonna go ahead and give a full 5 stars because it's a toy for children and not adults; therefore, my experience and feedback is less important than the target demographic. What follows is the feedback and rating from my niece and nephew.You have to charge these up and the battery life isn't long enough. The grabber arm makes it hard to grab the prizes. My 3 year old nephew could not get a prize at all. My nearly 5 year old niece was able to operate the grabber arm but she still says it's too hard trying to pickup the prizes. The included toys/prizes were decent enough and their size is about the perfect size to fit inside the grabber claw. The assortment of toys was pretty good but seemed totally random (as-in the dino version had toys like these little doll face plushies pink & purple colored).

My kids absolutely adore this thing. They are CONSTANTLY fighting over turns on it to get prizes out of it. We started putting the odd piece of candy in along with the mini plushies, and they are just elated over it. It's a really simple machine, and the claw does leave some room for improvement, but for something to keep the kids occupied, and happy, this is perfect. The volume can thankfully be turned down, and the top doesn't lock shut, but it's perfect for what it's intended for.
