Air [DVD] [2015] by Norman Reedus

Great product. Does the job.

Air is a good SCI FI thriller it has two very good actors playing the leads, the story is well written and developed, the characters get plenty of development we see all there fears desires hopes all in a nice paced manner, It has plenty of suspense and realism putting these two people in an impossible situation and how they react, also the ending has a satisfying conclusion any SCI FI fan would at least go that was ok it's not a bad movie, you will either love the character focused story or not, it's a nice packaged movie with nothing extra to give after the credits have rolled. definitely worth the watch but fails to be great or cult status.

I love the premise of this - a tight, claustrophobic drama/thriller with a sci-fi edge. The execution is pretty decent, strong performances carry things through and make it a worthwhile endeavour.The plot is nicely streamlined. We're in a post apocalyptic world that all looks and sounds a bit 80's and more specifically inside some kind of underground bunker where two engineers are tasked with keeping some apparently very important people alive while they lie asleep in stasis. This task doesn't necessarily prove to be particularly easy, we wouldn't have much of a film if it did.That's about all you need going in - it's largely a two hander from there between these two fellas, Djimon Hounsou and Norman Reedus (who you probably know best as Daryl from The Walking Dead). The film leans on them and their relationship heavily and they carry it all off very well. There's tension and a well crafted atmosphere of creeping dread alongside the occasional bit of action to keep things moving. I wanna stay spoiler free here so I'll only say that I wasn't really sold on the ending but such is life. This is still worth a look if you like this kind of thing.

I thought I would not like thus but I found myself loving it. Tho I don't really like how it's ends something thing for me were still not answered but still a good film that I got it on DVD.. 🎈

A decent attempt at a psychological thriller centered around a post-apocalyptic theme world. Decent acting from the two main characters and supporting 'ghost' character, however, does not save a badly written plot which manages to be predictable and ultimately boring. There seems to be a lot of empty scenes with little to no dialogue or action showing just the incredible setting, presumably for the audience to fill in the blanks. Maybe it's just me, but I would prefer to see the story rather than read it or make a guess. It is a bit harder to develop feelings for the characters if they give very little backgrounds to them. The film focuses a lot on time, evident by the clock in every room ticking away till the oxygen runs out. Yet, the scale of time that has passed is unrealistic, to say the least, unless waltzing around a broken station and crawling through an air vent can only take 10 mins of precious air time (and 3 when he runs back). Months, years, decades could pass and we would be none the wiser, well apart from Cartwright's grey beard at the end. In the end, or rather halfway through, there are a lot of unanswered questions such as; how far has Cartwright lost his mind? is he aware of it and just attempting to fool Bauer? What happened to the other monitor stations? what is this mysterious contagion that killed off life on earth? What is Mr. and Mrs. Cartwrights' story? and so on and so on.. Ironically for a film called air, there is a lot of it... most of it empty and overly reliant on somber music and exaggerated acting to sell the story. Buyers remorse for sure; this film is not recommended.

Well Acted Science Fiction.On Conclusion Of The Film It Make Sense.Interesting. But Not Great.

A great film with an unusual plot. It makes you question your morals a little. The actors give a fantastic performance. It is slow though so if you're after a fast-paced, reveal-all-in-ten-minutes typical action film then this is not for you.

Full Disclaimer: ich bin ein großer Fan von Norman Reedus und liebe Sci-Fi Katastrophenfilme.Ich finde den Film dementsprechend spitze!Wir treffen die beiden Protagonisten 6 Monate nach der globalen Katastrophe. Was eigentlich passiert ist erfahren wir nur am Rande und aus alten Videoaufzeichnungen.Was den Film unglaublich stark macht ist, dass er mit nur 3 Darstellern auskommt, und auch nicht auf Spezialeffekte setzt. Stattdessen wird die Katastrophe von der menschlichen Seite beleuchtet. Bauer (Norman Reedus) und sein Kollege Cartwright (Djimon Hounsou) sind 2 ganz normale Männer. Ihre Aufgabe ist es eine Elite an Wissenschaftlern zu beschützen, die solange in Tiefschlaf versetzt werden, bis die Erde wieder bewohnbar wird. Dafür erwachen die beiden alle 6 Monate für 1.5 Stunden um nach dem rechten zu sehen und ein paar technische Aufgaben zu erledigen. Beide Männer haben sich für diese Aufgabe freiwillig gemeldet, über die Motive und den Hintergrund der beiden erfahren wir in Gesprächen, dazu möchte ich nichts verraten.Die beiden Schauspieler sind super und die Geschichte ist spannend, denn natürlich geht einiges in diesen 1.5 Stunden schief.Der Schluss schwächelt für meinen Geschmack etwas, trotzdem ist der Film besonders für Fans des Genres ein Leckerbissen, der sich erfrischend von den großen Hollywoodblockbustern absetzt und auf leise zwischenmenschliche Töne und Schauspieler statt CGI setzt.

Die zwei Wärter Bauer (Norman Reedus) und Cartwright (Djimon Hounsou) leben dort, um die unterirdische Anlage zu warten und die in den Kälteschlaf versetzten Menschen zu beaufsichtigen, die zu gegebener Zeit eine neue Gesellschaft aufbauen sollen. Allerdings haben sie unterschiedliche Auffassungen darüber, auf welche Weise sie ihre Aufgabe bewältigen sollten und müssen zudem Tag für Tag darum kämpfen, an diesem kargen Ort ihre eigene mentale Gesundheit zu bewahren. Daraus entwickelt sich mit der Zeit ein Konflikt, der sich so weit zuspitzt, dass letztlich der Fortbestand der Menschheit auf dem Spiel steht. Dass einer der beiden die Hoffnung eigentlich schon längst aufgegeben hat, macht die Sache nicht gerade einfacher.VerleiherSony Pictures GermanyIch habe mir die DVD gekauft weil ich die Serie The Walking Dead super toll finde und hier auch der Schauspieler Norman Reedus mitspielt den ich gerne sehen mag.Ich fand den Film nicht schlecht aber auch nicht zugut weil es davon schon Filme gibt die so ähnlich sind.Also wer Norman Reedus auch so gerne sieht sollte sich aufjedenfall den Film zulegen Action und Spannung ist aufjedenfall mitdabei.
