After buying countless guitar books and being disappointed, I decided to give this one a try after a friend told me it really helped them. This is exactly what I’ve been searching for! Tommy explains playing guitar and music theory in a really easy and digestible way for beginners AND seasoned pros. I’ve been playing guitar for almost 20 years now and this book challenged me in so many ways. Thanks Tommy for making the best instructional book out there!!

I’ve been playing guitar for about 6 months now, trying to teach myself. Most programs are very confusing, and allow for too much freedom. (I have adhd, and I get sidetracked very easily) I wanted something to show me concepts step by step, sort of like a classroom setting. I’ve only gone a few days(chapters) into this book, but I can already tell it’s going to be awesome. The way this book is written is like a book you would get in a college classroom, teaching lessons in a row, and using them to build upon. It’s kind of like having a college music teacher in a book. Definitely worth the buy, and it’s great for a lot of skill levels because it even gives you new ways to think about some of these concepts.

I have been playing guitar for a few years at my church and struggled to get out of the beginner phase. This is the first guitar book I have found that has step by step helped me see a path way to becoming a serious player. The way the author explains music theory parallel with chords, licks, and pentatonic shapes, allows me to really understand what I'm playing for the first time. I wish this book existed years ago! This book is almost all theory and scales. Like almost all guitar learning texts, it starts off fairly easy and very quickly gets complicated. If you don't understand any of the scant details in this book (very likely), you are invited to sign up for the author's online "expanded version" via Patreon, at $9.99 per month minimum; much more if you want one to one lessons.In my opinion, this book is no more than a come-on to sign up for the author's, subscription based, online offerings.I consider myself an intermediate guitarist, so a beginner would be completely lost with this text.

This book completely changed my view on guitar. The way it lays out chord structure, teaching me the number system, and understanding music theory just makes sense. I hope there’s a volume II titled “Pro to Guitar God”.

This book is amazing! Over the past 6-8 years of playing, I have never read a book that outlined everything I have learned in 30 days. Things I have learned from live gigs, church, and the internet are all there! The book is like a cheat code for guitar players!

This book has answered so many questions I never wanted to ask, but needed to ask to get by some sticking points. Still have a lot to learn and love going through this book. This book is so easy to understand and breaks things down in manageable size bites. A must read for guitarists.
