Amazing Storytelling
Mr. Nuttall is one of the best new writers. His ability to turn out consistently readable stories is a huge surprise. The stories never get old or repeat. The writing is clean and the author draws you in and leads you around without your hardly noticing. The characters seem genuinely real, the plot believable and richly colored, and the writing is simply fun. I find myself up at 3:00 AM reading Nuttall books and no idea of how I blew five hours of sleep time. I’m supposed to get up at 5:00 AM ! This series, the Schooled In Magic, and Zero series are a treat.

Adam between romance and death
Good 2nd part of the trilogy. Adam is plagued by his old nemesis Matt, but his relationship to Lilith gains momentum. All of that is overshadowed by the enemy army outside the wards and the danger of starvation.

Continuing Magic
Great follow-up to the Cunning Man, a spin-off from the Schooled in Magic (SIM) Series, with a third novel in the pipeline. The story centres on the struggle to establish the new concept of a university in the Nameless World, or as I prefer Emily's World or the Emilyverse (Emily herself would never countenance such nonsense), as seen from now lower-middle ranking members of the community. Characters from SIM continue to play minor roles & Emily's name is invoked several times. Emily may even make an appearance in the third novel...

Great Story - if not jumbled
I really enjoy Chris Nuttall's Unnamed World series. In love the concept of a mostly magical world coming to terms with rapid technical innovations, it's fascinating. I don't think we see the main character grow in this one, but a lot of other players have interesting growth. I feel like the main leaders at the school likely could have done more to save the school than wait for the students to come up with a plan or idea for almost all the issues in the book. The nexus is a vast reservoir of power, seemingly without end... I think they could have used that to squash the main antagonists and their unwitting agents.Still, I really enjoy this world and like the main character, a man who had no magic but a keen mind, now his body is suffused with magic but can't make it perform like the mages born with magic can. Fun concept.

Spannende Fortsetzung
