A strange experience for me. Maybe I just need to give it time.
This is my first time wearing a dedicated cycle under garment with a cushioned thick pad.It is made out of some kinda of "lycra" super-soft material that fits like a stocking I guess? As a man who has never worn material like this it feels really weird. I suspect this is made from the same kind of stocking type leggings you see girls wearing these days. It is so light and thin and you almost don`t notice it`s on! Weird as I am used to clothes that actually feel heavy and on me- that`s how I like it. However, I can see how it works for cycle underwear. It has a thick padding sewn into thei "lycra" (not sure what it is), that is directly under your private parts and especially your bottom. Again as a first time wearer it feels like i`m wearing a nappy. Weird. On the bike seat, it took a little of the hardness away from sitting on it (as my bike seat is like a fence and so it`s quite uncomfortable), but it was not as comfortable as I expected. I cycled for over 5 hours today and my bum was quite sore by the end of it, despite this. I wonder if it`s my seat position or I just need to give myself time to get used to it?Also it makes you want to sit wide due to how it feels under you. As a man it becomes really uncomfortable to close your legs even a bit. Now I understand why Male cyclists who wear these things always sit with their legs wide open.Anyway 4 stars. A strange experience from a noob (me) that I`m sure dedicated cyclists don`t even notice.

Casual lycra wearer.
Ok so my review. I have recently purchased a new bike in order to cycle to work and hopefully get fit ish in the process. So first day and oh my god my arse was in agony. Took me a full week and a bath to recover. And i was recommended by another cyclist to buy a pair of padded shorts. I found these and they seemed ok. Arrived quickly and were of a good standard. Padding seemed sufficient for the requirements. Quite happy on first impression. They fit well dont cause any rubbing. They do feel a like an adult nappy when walking but fine on the bike. Reduced arse pain by at least 60%. Good product recommended.

Great for shorter rides
Not the greatest cycle shorts I own (I have 4 pairs!) but they are "Good Enough for use on the Turbo trainer, or under my baggy MTB shorts. These rides are generally on the shorter side - 1 to 2.5 hours, and by then starting to get a little uncomfortable. I would recommend them to newer riders wanting to try padded shorts, and who are still doing shorter distance rides, or for anyone to use on a Turbo etc. Once you start being 3 hours plus in the saddle, you really want to think about getting some decent quality bib shorts ;-)

Sizing was spot on
Being a 38 waist & reading some of the reviews with sizing problems I was a bit cautious bit the Xl fits great the fabric is mesh & the pad sent soft but may losses with a few washes...all in all a good product for the little price, will order again when it needs replacing

Not the best fitting for me.
These shorts are OK for short journeys, however for me the main padding is too far back as I have since found that my "sit bones" are actually positioned in front of the main padding and are only effective if I pull the front waist band up above my navel! Worn normally the large pads barely touch the saddle while cycling. However this may just be me because I have some far more expensive shorts and the same is true of them as well. I am a size 32 waist so ordered the medium, however in hindsight I think the small size would be a better fit as they are very stretchy and move around as you cycle, the small size should be tighter and may not move around as much. Overall they are no better or worse than the other (more expensive) shorts that I have tried so 3 stars from me.

Bottom Buddy !
Hmmm, I seemed to suffer from a sore rear whilst cycling and needed a bit of TLC from somewhere. This product has become my rear ends best buddy. I agree with another reviewer that stated it was a strange feeling when 1st wearing them, quickly become used to putting the "protector" on though. Which size to order ? After reading the other reviews I went 1 size up from a medium (my size) to a large and the fit was fine. For anyone feeling R E D (rear end discomfort) I would recommend this product.

so best worn in cooler months as it may make you ...
Adds a little more comfort if you're not a regular cyclist. I wear it over my normal underpants, so best worn in cooler months as it may make you feel too warm on a hot summer's day. Or wear with shorts over. Worth a try if you get saddle sore - I'm a middle aged leisure cyclist so appreciate a little extra padding!
