Autumn: Exodus (London Trilogy) Paperback – January 10, 2023

I've been a long-time fan of David Moody's books and this was the most satisfying ending to a series I've read in a long time. No spoilers, but the journey has been the big thing about this series, and yet the destination is the icing on the cake. I'm sorry the series has ended and hope that another avenue opens up for more books in the Autumn world!

I've read all of David Moody's books and they just got better and better! Hope that he continues to write for a long damn time!

Awesome action packed thought provoking modern undead trilogy!

David Moody is a great author. This book is a great read from front to back as pretty much all of his books are.

Waited ages for this one, I got a free audio version from the author but could not get on with it so bought the ebook here, I think that the character building over the first two books meant I needed my inner voice for it! As always from David Moody we have smooth and well paced stories that keeps the pages turning. A thinned out group is escaping from London after the events of the last book and the story takes us into Essex and beyond, rather than the rinse and repeat, the story takes us in a new direction and the more traditional route of A-B with an antagonist that was always going to emerge. Given my wife is Polish I did enjoy telling her about the evil character. As always its really hard to end these journeys that we take with authors and once again David Moody wraps up the story line nicely for most of the character for a satisfactory conclusion. The series as a whole is a nice update for the Autumn series, I think particularly touching was the story of illness and deterioration outside of the zombie story, which is a sign that as a collective group the author and readers are getting older and realise we are facing our moralities in different ways.

Seit über zwei Jahrzehnten beweist David Moody, dass er einer ohne Frage der talentiertesten Horror Autoren weltweit ist – ein schwaches Buch von David Moody ist mir bislang noch nicht untergekommen, er legt immer wieder starke, originelle und schonungslose Romane mit einer mitunter beängstigend intensiv und glaubhaft geschilderten Handlung vor.Gerade zum mittlerweile von zahllosen Nachahmern arg überstrapazierten Genre der Zombie-Apokalypse hat er bereits vor über 20 Jahren mit dem Beginn der überragenden „Autumn“ Reihe den meiner Meinung nach wichtigsten literarischen Beitrag geliefert.Mit dem hier rezensierten AUTUMN: EXODUS liegt nun der Abschluss der „neuen“ Autumn-Trilogie vor, welche mit „Dawn“ begann und mit „Inferno“ fortgesetzt wurde und bislang in London spielte.Ohne die Handlung vorwegnehmen zu wollen geht es einmal mehr schonungslos zur Sache – die Überlebenden, welche bislang noch irgendwie in den Ruinen von London gegen Millionen (!) Untote bestehen konnten, müssen nun aus ihrer Lage ausbrechen, irgendwie aus der Metropole fliehen und eine sichere Zuflucht in einer völlig zerstörten Welt suchen… und bei all dem weder Hoffnung noch ihren Zusammenhalt als Gruppe verlieren, denn die Bedrohung durch andere Überlebende oder die eigene Verzweiflung ist mindestens genauso real wie die durch Millionen Untote.David Moody schildert einmal mehr ein beängstigend glaubhaftes, extrem apokalyptisches Szenario, mit plastischen Charakteren und ohne die mitunter üblichen Superhelden. Moody schreibt intensiv und plastisch, und er führt mit EXODUS die „London-Trilogy“ zu einem sehr packenden Abschluss. Der Roman zeigt neue, beängstigende Aspekte der Welt von „Autumn“, ist dabei aber ein absolut schlüssiges Werk und reiht sich in die Reihe hochklassiger Vorgänger ein.Ich kann mich kurz fassen: David Moody zeigt einmal mehr, warum er als Autor kaum zu schlagen ist, wenn es um Apokalypsen geht – und das er das Zombie-Genre wie kein anderer beherrscht.Klare 5 Sterne!

I loved the fact that this zombie trilogy was set in the UK, parts that I know. Tablet especially😊😊highly recommend
