It's easy to resent her
This season is black as tar. I ended it feeling nothing but resentment for almost all of the characters. The only person I could even begin to sympathize with is Wendy. It's easy to resent her, too, for her role in affecting Abel's health; but if we recall, she had been abandoned by her husband/baby's daddy so he might as well have put the needle in her arm for her - and he actually did, in the end. And when we consider the danger that Jax, Gemma, and the rest of the club are constantly putting Abel in, is Wendy's transgression really the worst? The themes this season explores and the questions it begs are profound. For one, the way the relationship evolves and matures between Jax and Tara is one I've personally experienced. When you're in love, it's easy to accept things you normally wouldn't. You will endure trauma that you could have never thought possible. You start making changes in yourself to be the person you think your partner needs, when if you had known before the relationship that you'd WANT to become this person, you wouldn't believe it.The things you think you can handle when you're in love and the things you come to regret further along in a relationship are sometimes one and the same. We begin to see the limits of Jax's promises and ability to protect, and we also begin to see how Tara is beginning to awaken to the brevity of the reality she's occupying. The spell is breaking. We begin to wonder how much of what Jax and Gemma do is actually for the good of the family, and how much of it is for their egotistical needs to control everything around them. We see how much they have to dehumanize others in order to justify their choices. Jax appears to transform from a troubled hero to a bloodthirsty fascist - but in fact, he's always been that way. We just never saw it because he had been presented as someone who was making hard but necessary choices. He has always been murderous, violent and domineering. The characters in this show are dysfunctional and despicable with a twisted sense of justice, which is complicated by the fact that everyone lies and manipulates to ensure their own version of Good prevails. Anyone who violates their not-so-obvious code of ethics is liable to be murdered, or worse.I love this show for the moral dilemmas it puts its characters and audience in, and the lines we're forced to consider and redraw to accept the behavior of our favorite characters. What would we do in these situations? If this were our lives? Maybe we want to forgive the characters for what they do, but should we?

Kurt Sutter pulls it out again
Kurt Sutter is the best writer for t.v. out there. You can never really guess where he is gonna go with a plot, unlike most media dramas. He always surprises you. Watched a couple interviews with him and I think he purposely makes sure he does this: he calls the predictable routes too easy.I am fascinated with Gemma because I'm the same age as that character, Look exactly like her in SOME ways (build, hair, etc) and I relate to parts of her character exactly, especially since Clay fell out. She's lost. Where is she supposed to go? Her whole world crumbles. He can't kill this character. She's too deep and complex besides the fact that she and Clay capture the older age groups of fans.Every episode is great. Out of all of them I only saw one that was a little drab and cannot even remember which one and hey, when you can have a near perfect attention grabbing story every week, who cares. The characters make it.... make the show really great. Half Sac would have been an awesome guy to keep on and develop but RIP, impossible. I am always fascinated by the prospects because that's an obvious place for great new characters to come in. Too bad the one nomad with the scratches got killed already because he was a great looking guy and a decent actor.I want to see more of Otto. I want him out of prison but being almost completely blind, and since its Sutter that plays him, not going to happen I guess. I love Otto because he has a wise old soul. That little laugh he does is the laugh of a man that has seen it all, has accepted it, has given up, and laughs the laugh of a seer in hell.Otto might not see, but he sees if you know what I mean.Best show ever. Sutter pulls it out even with the nonsense that is necessary for great t.v. - like these guys literally getting out of jail (w. 'free cards' all the time) but you don't laugh: you watch riveted at these characters that you love so much.... maybe it's believable because while Sutter does this, he breaks our hearts too, like real life... such as Opie dying. I cried and cried. Love the show.

Worse and worse with every episode
I used to binge watch SOA until season 4 until I took a break because I could not take the cheesyness anymore. I restarted watching because I wanted to give it another chance and to get it over with. And that's exaxtly what season 5 (and 6 for that matter) confirmed. Just get it over with...too many convenient coincidences, violence for violence sake, that it makes you laugh how ridiculously crude these moments have been haphazardly pushed into the series. The plot trickles (like it has ever since season 3) and it just does not end. I will watch SOA until the end as I need to finish the story but I am not getting much enjoyment out of it. Summary: getting worse with every episode. Glad it is over.

Sons Of Anarchy Season 5 (Blu-Ray)
With my fiancé being a massive fan of Sons Of Anarchy he was desperate to see season 5 and with no signs of it being shown here in the UK he was worried that he was never going to see season 5, so when I got Sons Of Anarchy Season 1-4 I had a look at the price of this and I knew I could afford it so I ordered this quickly incase it was sold out. Just like when my fiancé opened season 1-4 on Christmas Day morning he was so happy and so excited. Great value for money and fantastic quick delivery.

BEST BIKER FILM MADE SO FAR
ALL 5 SERIES HAVE BEEN GREAT - NOT TOO FAR FETCHED, DEPICTS THE CLOSE NEST OF A GROUP OF FELLOW BIKERS WHO PROTECT THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO THE END. SOME VIOLENCE THAT WAS TOO ADVANCED FOR LIKING BUT TO WATCH IT GAVE YOU BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE DEPTHS YOU CAN GO TO SAFE GUARD YOUR GROUP - NOT THAT FAR FROM THE TRUTH BUT COULD HAVE DONE WITH SHOWING MORE OF WHAT MOST BIKER GROUPS ARE ABOUT AND THATS RAISING LOTS OF MONEY FOR CHARITY NORMALLY DONE WITH NO PUBLICITY AND THATS WHY ITS NEVER NOTED CORRECTLY.

I LOVE THIS PROGRAMME!
Couldn't wait to get my hands on this so could have my annual Sons-Fest Marathon - why do British fans have to wait so long for SOA on TV and DVD? Anyway, comes with usual extras - Director's commentary, Gag Reel and for this Season, a piece dedicated to Opie. A must-have for fans and to be able to pick up on bits you may have missed when it was aired on TV.
