Another blistering story by L J Ross.Cannot wait for the next book.I have read all 21 DCI Ryan books and have never tired of the journey.It has been some time waiting for the recent 2. But after reading them I am seriously considering starting again at the beginning and reading them all again.No spoilers, hate that. Just saying this is one if my favourite authors and keeping the stories fresh, with so long a series, is amazing.You can see and hear the characters, due to the snippets dropped in regarding their personnas, without them overpowering the storyline and being repeated every book, another pet hate.The writing is seamless, with no obscure words used so that you have to interrupt reading to look them up in the dictionary.Thank you for wonderful stories and interesting characters, without making them unbelievable, but falling effortlessly and naturally into th storyline.

DCI Ryan doesn’t believe in coincidences, and with a rise in unexplained deaths, the team realise they may be on to something - the only problem is no evidence.How do you solve murders when the suspects have airtight alibis? The team need to start from the beginning and work their way through, again!This is a great whodunnit that makes for a compelling read.There is a good mix of dark, alongside some very funny humour now and then. Poor Frank does manage to drop himself in it somehow, in every single story, but you can’t help but smile at his antics.Ryan and Anna still have a wonderful relationship plus the added bonus of their beautiful daughter, Emma.The fabulous thing about these books is that, living in Northumberland, these places are well known. The descriptive writing makes me feel as though I’m seeing them for the very first time.I did find this story to be emotional at times. After reading these books from the start, I can’t not love the team and their families, they have all grown on me without even realising.

Great books, can't put it down

Absolutely cracking read! So many twists and turns throughout and provoked a variety of emotions. LJ Ross at her best. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

I suggest reading them in order if you can as it's like one long continuing story. Excellent series of books. Love the characters, the storylines, and as of yet I have not guessed the killer once. Guessed the wronguns, but not the killer. Just a warning, once you pop you just can't stop.

Yet another wonderful book. There's laughter and tears. There are plenty of twists and turns. I can't wait until the next one.

The 21st book in the series and the more you read the more you want the next one.As always, L J Ross makes the story seem real. She came from the region therefore relates to it and this helps with setting the storyline and brings the books and the area to life.You are always on the edge of your seat as the story twists and turns, but of course this is the sign of a really good writer.

LJ Ross has done it again, book 21 is better than 20 which was better than 19 etc., and I thoroughly enjoyed the very first Ryan.I now can't wait for the next one.Probably the best British detective series written, a real page-turner that captures the imagination from page one and holds it till the last page.My only regret is that I can't read the next one yet.

Great read

A suspenseful thriller that we hope would not actually happen in real life. And again, as evil exists today, the events could already be happening. It’s a scary thought.This was an excellent and entertaining tale. The characterswere well developed, no foul language and no graphic violence. What sexual overtones there were, were subtle with light humor.Thank you LJ Ross for you storytelling abilities.

As always, the subtle nuances of the key charectors is excellent. Can almost visualise the scenes. Cannot wait for the next book.

Con gli ultimi tre libri che ho comprato per il mio kindle, c'è stato un problema strano. Ad un certo punto, dopo circa 50 pagine, appare la pagina di valutazione, "prima di andare via... "e non c'è modo di superare la pagina e andare avanti nella lettura. Io ho preso nel tempo decide di ebbooks da Amazon, tutti perfetto. Che fare?

My heart was in my mouth until the very last page. I can't wait for the next installment of this wonderful series.
