::UPDATED:: Here's my review after a 10 day Ireland/Scotland Trip. I packed only using this item; no other luggage was taken except for my travel space-saver bags (if you want to count them). I used the back-pack / suitcase separately, as in, I didn't travel with them zipped together as one unit. I needed simple carry on luggage as I did not want to pack heavy, and thought I found the PERFECT solution.I gave this product TWO STARS. Both Malfunctions I encountered (detailed below) were not deal breakers. I didn't have to purchase new luggage during my trip, BUT for almost $90 I feel these items should have lasted longer. This was an easy trip... nothing crazy. It's disappointing that this is already damaged. I am by no means an extreme traveler. I like to be comfortable, but travel as light as possible. It's easier.These did their job, but by the end of my trip I discovered:1) The hardware holding the Zipper tabs is not actually metal. They are plastic and have already cracked (on the suitcase) or broken off (on the backpack). I would think for this price I'd get METAL hardware. I think my large, cheap-o suitcase from Wal-Mart even has metal hardware...2) The outside edge of the wheels on the suitcase fell off completely. They were so worn down, by the end of a TEN Day trip, that they "peeled off" like a banana peel on the last day. The suitcase stayed in the hotel while I was out and about. It only went outside to get in a cab or roll around an airport.I don't know if I'll even be able to use the roller suitcase again. The wheels are the whole point. I'll try to return this.

I did like being able to remove the back pack and take to seat on an airplane, and then put the larger part in overhead. I like the option of backpack straps on both the backpack and luggage compartment.The only thing I do not like is that the luggage portion of the item does not unzip all the way. So it kind of open to a 50 degree angle and makes packing a little more difficult…

I'm in love with this bag! The wheels are sturdy and love it can turn into a backpack. I will be taking this on a trip to New York with my 10 mo old daughter. I will use the backpack for under the seat and store the rest of our extra items above head. The backpack opening is small if you want to store a lap top in it but an ipad will fit perfectly.I can't wait to use this!

This is very useful for travel. It would have gotten 5 stars, but two small irritations kept it at 4. When the backpack is fully loaded, it can tip over the entire bag, which is not ideal. Also, the bag does not open fully for easy packing. The zipper part only opens enough for it to stay and a 90 degree angle when packing. Small problems that did not keep us from buying another one for my wife.

I like this bag combo a lot. Put the main bag over head on a plane and the detachable backpack order the seat. They zip together for easy transport threw airport. It also has straps on the main bag so you could wear it all on your back if you wanted to.

Great luggage. Carried it to Andorra on a plane and a bus. Fits in the overhead bin with the backpack under the seat. Roomier than meets the eye!

Awesome carry-on. The daypack detaches, so you can even overfill it, and it will still fit in the overhead compartment!

Used this luggage to get around in Europe for a week and a half, and it stood up to all our abuse. The Navy color is really quite dark, not as vibrant as it appears online
