At McCormick we carefully select our Sesame Seeds for sweet nutty flavor. Also known as “benne seed”, the creamy white seeds are loved throughout the world in both baked goods as well as savory dishes. Sesame seeds are a key ingredient in Asian, Indian and Middle Eastern cooking, where they add a nutty flavor and satisfying crunch. In Asia, they are added to stir-fries, sushi, coatings for meat or fish, and noodle dishes. In the Middle East, they are in confections, spice blends and in tahini paste, an essential ingredient in hummus. Sesame seeds are enjoyed sprinkled on baked goods like rolls, bagels, cookies and pastries. Toasting brings out a rich, nuttier flavor – add the seeds to a hot pan and cook 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Tasty!
Great tasting sesame seeds. I’ve been using these for baking & buttered pasta for decades! This is my first jump jar. Jar has an inner seal. I’ve posted some photos so you can get a better idea by how large this bottle is. The top has two openings - one for spooning a larger amount & the second opening is for sprinkling seeds out. Biggie sized! I hope this is helpful for you!

The WORST Packaging!
I have been a lifetime user of McCormick spices and the past two years have been awful with them because the tops will not screw off. My pantry has numerous jars of their spices where I have had to punch holes thru the cardboard liner to get the spices out. But I can't tell you how many that I need to use to fill my spice rack that again will not open. Look at my photo and see what I go thru to get access to the spices! A wrench doesn't even work so I literally have to break thru the pour spouts! Come on McCormick's!!!! Get your packaging fixed!!!

Worm in sealed product
I tend to buy product in anticipation of needing more, so I have them ready to go if I run out while cooking. In this case, I ordered this McCormick sesame seeds but didn’t end up using them. I was reorganizing my pantry when I noticed the seeds were floating at the top. I assumed it was some sort of static, but upon closer inspection I realized that they were wrapped up in a web. I also found a dead worm inside. I took the lid off, but found that the safety seal was still completely intact. We never opened it! It’s much too late for me to request a refund or return, so be aware that sesame seeds might be susceptible to worms.

Large Container For Frequent Use
This large container of whole sesame seeds from McCormick's is marketed as appropriate for commercial kitchens, primarily because of the size; however, it works well in mine because I go through a lot of sesame seeds. I go through a lot when I make Italian-style bread or use it as a coating for tuna. I was getting frustrated that I'd tear through an average-size bottle and have to buy more. These sesame seeds taste fresh, not rancid. The only issue is finding the shelf space to store it.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Do you like Hummus?
I used up the last purchase making Tahini, an essential ingredient in hummus, which also needs (only) chickpeas and garlic, in its basic recipe. We like hummus, ergo, we need sesame seeds, hulled. And maybe some sun dried tomatoes or other such for variety. But this is where is starts, and its better than store bought when finished.BTW, I have a small food processor, so grinding this up with, or without, a little oil is easy.

Fresh, good value
Great price on fresh, tasty bulk sesame seeds! I use them on fresh bread and in stir fries. They are true to what I expect from a fresh sesame seed.

Great value!
So excited to have this! It’s so hard to find sesame seeds at our local stores for some reason, and when I do, they’re like $3-$4 for a tiny 1.5 inch jar. This big jug of sesame seeds is a GREAT deal compared to what they sell for here.I use a lot of them when I make stir fry, and this will last me a good while! 10/10

Fresh
The sesame seeds arrived fresh and right on time for a baguette I was making. Seriously. I was going to go ahead and make an unseeded one, but the sesame seeds absolutely made the bread.
