Well made with good padding
Haven't had it long enough to know if the padding will hold up, but, so far, I'm liking this capo. It has a nice sturdy build due to the metal composition and the spring tension is good and tight. The only one I have to compare it to is one that's more like a levered clamp. The good thing about that one is you can adjust the clamping pressure to prevent over stressing the wood or finish on your instrument. This one doesn't have that kind of adjustability, but I don't have any reason to think the pressure is excessive at this point. The one thing I did notice with this, which is probably true of all these spring-loaded types, is I couldn't hang my guitar in its wall-mounted hanger with the capo attached to the headstock. That's probably a good thing if the pressure could cause any indentations, say. I don't know that it could, but why take a chance?I'm surprised, looking at the listing just now, how cheap this goes for. I paid over $20 for my other capo with the adjustable pressure. This one goes for something like $6 and I like it well enough that if they offered one of those capos that cover just some of the strings, I'd get that too. Unless lights reflecting off the metal would be any problem for you, this one will probably do you well.

A very nice capo!
I really like this capo.It came in an easy open clamshell package. No tools or cutting required. The manufacturing seems high quality. There is no noise in the hinge when you squeeze it. It opens and closes evenly. There are no visible seams. The silicon is attached well. The steel has no sharp edges and it has a nice, even finish.I like the design. It feels good in your hand. It's comfortable to attach and remove. The pressure from the spring is even across all strings. (Note that many cheap capos will have good grip only near the hinge.)Packaging says designed for classical guitar (nylon or catgut strings), but I've tested it on electric with steel and brass strings of various gauges. It works great and seems quite versatile. I haven't tested it on classical guitar yet. It's kind of funny that it has an eponymous generic label on the hinge "capo". At least I won't forget what this tool is for! There is an unusual U shaped cutout in part of the handle that seems purposeful, but I don't know what it's for.EDIT: I just noticed that a product image shows that this part is for popping out the string anchors on a classic style acoustic. This would have been useful for me in the past. This seems to me like a very good value capo. It is my new favorite for now.The packaging says made in China.

Nice satin finish
I tried this on my Yamaha, Fender, and Ibanez acoustics and it worked, but while I don't consider any of those to have unusually thick necks, they were all close to the limit of how far this capo will open. If you have a guitar with a really thick neck, this may not work. The finish is a nice satin that looks good and gives good grip. The padding on the "jaws" is thin, but soft and feels like it will last reasonably well.

Great value in a solid capo
I'm very happy with the functionality of this capo, especially considering the price. Comparing it to a popular brand at about four times the price, this capo is almost equal in quality. It has a strong spring for a tight hold and reliable positioning. It has a little less thickness in the rubber that presses directly on the strings, but more than other inexpensive capos I own. Thicker rubber allows the capo to work on more guitars with different fretboard curvature (neck radius). This one is slightly curved, but it probably could still work on a flatter neck.I'm starting to prefer this style of capo that hides the clamping mechanism behind the neck instead of it sticking up where the audience can see it. It's just a cleaner look. However, I would rather the plastic circles on the sides of the hinge were either branded or just left black. Having "CAPO" printed there gives the product a cheap, generic look.Overall, it's a solid buy -- and the bridge pin puller is a handy little extra.

My first capo
I have never had my own capo before, and this one is very easy to use. It is pretty self explanatory. You attach it to the neck. It is well made, and not too tight, not to loose. I can now play in different keys very easily and fast. Next, to learn to play the guitar better.

Inexpensive, Functional and Nice looking metal capo
I keep a capo in the case with each of my guitars so I don't have to go searching when I need one. This is an inexpensive capo but it looks good. Regardless of looks and price it would not be worth much if it did not function well. It fits this strat style guitar very well and functions perfectly. The rubber padding on the jaws make it safe to use without worrying about marring the finish on the neck. If you were to use it on an acoustic guitar, it has a built in bridge pin puller to help with string changes. There are lots of inexpensive capos out there. It comes down to esthetics. If It looks good on your guitar as well as functioning properly and being reasonably priced, it is an easy recommend.

A great capo for nearly any guitar
I used this on an electric strat variant, and it works just fine. The grip is quite good, and it catches all of the strings well (I was worried about the far end). On top of that the look is stylish and simple, and the value is outstanding. If you’re looking for a basic capo, this is a great option.
