Tried it on our back patio for a week, it caught a lot of moths, and few mosquitos. Not sure if its too early for catching night mosquitos, or if this machine doesn't attract them. Its quiet because there is no "zapping" involved, its basically a trap. The blue light attracts them, they fly to the light, and are sucked in by a small computer type fan that drops them into a container. The biggest problem with this unit, is to clean the bottom there are two things to clean, the plastic tray, which is easy to clean, and a plastic shield that covers the bottom of the fan motor. The insects get caught in this cover and to clean it, you need to remove four screws and begin to wash or brush off the dead insects. Too much trouble in my opinion to have to do any unscrewing of anything to clean dead insects. If they had made the cover easy to remove, then it would be an almost perfect bug remover.I'll keep mine to have near us if we sit outside or even in the house, but this doesn't have the range I need, at lest one acre. I'm in the market to buy a second "zapper" that will hang outdoors and come on at dusk and zap all it wants away from our patio.

We bought a fly killer last year and really loved it, but because our winter was so mild in Texas the mosquitoes are already out and we needed something to stop this. Unlike a fly killer, this thing makes no noise. However, it does need to be plugged in to work I will say that. As a self-proclaimed crunchy gal, I love that it has no harsh toxins or chemicals that are being given off as my little kids run around and play outside. Also, if you are squeamish as I am, even around dead bugs, you may want to find someone else to empty it. :P

this thing does nothing.. bugs aren't attracted to it.. it's just a tiny toy thing.. no electric shock.. nothing.. just blue light with a fan??

This product does absolutely nothing to kill mosquitos. It does attract and kill June bugs.

Overall the product was not effective and mosquitoes continued to munch on me in my condo.
