Excellent Cameras
Excellent cameras. I have 10 of these in my bar in Hollywood, Florida and have not had any problems with them.I have 5 outside and 5 inside. It rains pretty much every day here in the summer and so far so good.I do have LED flood lights on the exterior so the cameras are not in total darkness. Setting up a singlecamera can be a bit of a hassle but setting up through a NVR was a breeze.Plugged the cameras into the external POE switch and they showed up right away. You do have to change the IP address but most newer NVR's will batch rename the IP's.I'm using a 16 camera 2016 GW Security GW2216 NVR. and a BV-Tech 18 Port Switch with 16 POE+ Ports and2 Gigabit Ethernet Uplink.I used a separate POE switch other than a built into the NVR type. I have the NVR mounted above the ceilingout of sight (only need 1 ethernet cable, wireless mouse dongle and 110 volt plug) and an old unused DVR pluggedin under the POE switch. In case of break in's (never happened but you never know) hopefully thieves willonly go for the dummy recorder or switch thinking it's the NVR.Cameras also come with everything you need, power supply (if not using POE) software (which you do not needif using a NVR), 3 ft ethernet cable (good for testing), small quick start guide, mini DVD and mounting hardware(which I did not use). Most commercial grade IP cameras only come with camera, manual and mini DVD.See attached pictures. There are no parking lot lights on (cheap landlord).

Built well but out of date software makes it terrible.
I wanted an ultra low light camera without the need for IR LEDs. I was optimistic when I opened the package. The camera is really solid and looks like a nice camera.I was able to install the configuration software and connect to the camera, but it requires a plugin that is not supported by Chrome and would not install properly in IE. Directed me to an Aisan website that I could not read but appeared to include a driver. Did not work. The website in the instructions does not exist. But and I managed to find a firmware update on the current Sea-Wit website. I was able to install that and a new and very promising looking new interface appeared when I connected to the camera in IE.. But that one also required a plugin. Downloaded plugin and installed,. Could not get an image from the camera. After several hours of trying, I gave up. Cannot recommend.

A conditional recommendation, but read the review for installation issues and color night vision quirks...
I wasn't 100% sure about buying a no-name camera with reviews of dubious provenance, but I figured they were inexpensive enough to be an experiment.PackagingI'm used to buying Hikvision and Amcrest cameras, so the packaging experience is a little different here. The camera is small, with the box only slightly larger to accommodate a DC adapter, Ethernet weatherproofing, a virtually useless CAT5 cable, some mounting hardware, and a quick start quide. Everything arrived intact, so the packaging appeared to be adequate, but relatively no-frills.Physical SetupThe physical installation of the camera is pretty standard. There are three mounting holes, and the network jack and aux power jack can be routed through the gasket, or it can be fed through a mount hole. If you do not feed the wires through the gasket, there isn't anything to seal that channel. If that's the mounting option you choose, you should use some foam or neoprene to seal it properly. The camera housing is entirely metal. I did not disassemble it, so I can't say how well the unit is sealed against atmospheric moisture (I'm in Houston). Aesthetically, I do not like that the cables are black, as that makes them much more visible if not routed through the mounting hole. The jack does have an activity LED, which is convenient if you are not validating your cabling.Software SetupWith any other IP camera, I would usually get my PC on the same subnet as the camera (they usually have static IPs to begin with), and connect to the on-board web server. In this case, I successfully connected with Internet Explorer (required due to the use of an outdated ActiveX control), but was prompted to download the ActiveX control from a Chinese website that looks like a cloud file sharing site. Having no desire to subject my machine to anything like that, I used software included on the mini CD. I've attached an image just to illustrate how bad the software is. It's easily the worst utility of this type I've seen yet.PerformanceRegardless of how difficult it is to set up a camera, you should only have to do it once, right? So at that point it just comes down to the performance of the camera. I haven't had this unit long, so I can't really speak to the long term reliability. I haven't had any lockups, or any need to cycle the power, which is a plus. As for the image quality, it is average or slightly below average on daylight image quality. It's impossible to say if it's the CCD or the optics, but the image has the unfortunate combination of a soft image combined with aggressive in-camera sharpening. Without the use of the ActiveX browser control, it's not possible to change the image settings, but you can change the encoding parameters. I recommend changing the camera to H.265 ASAP. The night operation of this camera is probably why you are considering this camera, so I've included an image, along with reference images in the same conditions from a Hikvision camera with the same focal length lens. So, here are my thoughts on the color night vision:It's an interesting feature that I specifically bought the camera for. The CCD sensitivity gets cranked through the roof, and some noise reduction filtering is applied. Before I got the camera, I assumed that it was a combination of using IR data for luminance, and non-IR spectrum data for color to multiply by the luminance. It was an educated guess, but it was wrong. It turns out that the camera doesn't use IR AT ALL. This is problematic because the camera needs at least some ambient light to operate, where a traditional IR/night vision camera would not. If there is no ambient light, there is no image. The other problem has to do with the locations of any light sources, relative to the objects in the frame. Since the camera does not emit any light, it can be difficult to see items in shadowed areas.ConclusionThe camera is working fine with Blue Iris with the generic ONVIF profile. I may be willing to sacrifice a VM at some point in order to try to load the sketchy ActiveX control, but it's not really a priority at the moment. As long as you know about the setup issues up front (and are presumably ok with them), this is a solid camera at the price. The color night vision is a nice feature, but some situations are better suited for IR. I'm getting two more of these cameras to supplement (not replace) my existing camera infrastructure.

A really good camera
ok, let me start by saying i bought a few different name brand POE cameras before finding this one. the others have been returned. and i have 6 seawit now. this camera has a really good sensor. thats what makes a good camera. you really can see in the dark. I didnt try the included software, it seems difficult. If you are setting up a camera system then you need software. i use blue iris and it is amazing. i can do more than you can with nest, arlo, etc and no monthly fee. This camera is good becasue its POE so i only need to run one cable to each camera.tl;dr= Buy this camera! Better than dahua! also buy software, blue iris works great

Best camera
These starlight cameras are amazing. They can see in near total darkness like it is light out, and in color. 1080p video is very clear. I included a picture from the camera at night in darkness with only a nightlight making light.
