For us, 2 out of 3 wasn't bad " The immortal lines of Tommy De Vito in Jersey Boys The Musical and also the excellent film directed and produced by Clint Eastwood in 2014. For such a huge headliner draw, there is precious little of their catalogue available on vinyl these days, so this album was a welcome change. My copy arrived fast in well protected packaging which Amazon has perfected in my opinion, and yes, it is vinyl , not a CD. A full 180 gram disc that is flat, without needle weave, and gloriously silent surfaces. The sound quality is truly excellent, alive and punchy, with superb clarity being Direct Metal Mastered from the original master tapes. Definitely audiophile quality. The material includes their big hits like Cherry and Big Girls Don't Cry , but there are also some really rare songs that are brilliantly done. You've got to hand it to Bob Crewe, he really knew how to capture that magical Four Seasons sound in the studio to perfection. For me, if this disc had included "My Eyes Adored You" and "You're Just Too Good To Be True" it would have been my Desert Island Disc of all time, but nevertheless, it is essential for anyone with the best vinyl to date of "The Four Seasons Story" on Private Stock Records. This can sell for crazy money these days, but one can often pick up a copy in the charity shops for a couple of quid if you are lucky enough to find a copy lurking behind the Des O Connor and Max Bygraves dross.Wax Records have done a great job with this cut, my advice is grab a copy before it is too late.............. it is a limited edition disc and will in time become a classic.
