Michigan Drill "P" type cut-off blade produces a chip narrower than the blade itself and is suited for cutting off, grooving and similar operations. Cobalt steel tools are similar to high-speed steel, but with more cobalt for improved performance when cutting harder metals such as stainless steel or nickel alloys. Increased clearance angles on each side of the blade reduces friction. The narrow design conserves material being cut and reduces the heat generated when cutting.
