Solid cast brass, not brass plated
Brass is solid, not plated. This is a heavy-duty piece. can be easily adjusted to many different uses with files. Enough material to drill holes bigger, file a different shape into the latch, etc. Very nice

Love these. Really sturdy
Love these. Really sturdy. Heavy. Look great in our 1930's home. Just like the originals they used back in the day when indestructible, quality products were used in construction. Would definitely recommend.

Cast but not well cast
I had high hopes for this sash lock. It has a dark tone, "ark antique brass" if you like, almost a light bronze. It is cast brass, thicker than other sash locks but it is made of the lowest grade of brass, coarsely finished with some grinder marks still evident. It is not up to modern manufacturing standards. The swivel side has no spring tensioner or stop like most locks and the pivot pin is a rivet that is just flattened on the bottom with what looks like hammer blows, it will spin around 360º if that's what you want. If the pair are mounted along the seam of the sashes, either the lock or the keeper will need to be mounted over the gap in the sashes. (see photo) the lock does not really have a flat side to mount along the gap, there is a bulge where most locks have a flat edge. Made in Indonesia is printed on the box in 3 point type. If your current locks are serviceable and you want a heavy replacement keeper, that might be an Ok option, but the swivel lock side is very low quality. I returned them.

Solid, historic reproduction.
Awesome lock, solid, has a sturdy weight about it. A pair was delivered today, enjoyed the overall look so much, I’ve already ordered another pair this evening.

Cheap screws
Nice hinges but the screws are cheaply made and strip easily.

Easy to install but poorly constructed.
Nice looking and easy to install, but poorly constructed. I installed on my window and when I closed the latch, the head of the pin holding it together broke off with hardly any pressure.

Perfect fit for 1960s wooden window.
Perfect fit for my original 1960s windows! I've had a window with a bracket lock since we moved in and didn't even think to look for a replacement until I came across these while looking for something else. Fits perfectly and is just as sturdy as the originals. I have no idea how the previous owners broke the original one... It comes with Phillips head screws which is great because everything in the house seem to have regular screw heads which are a pain.
