Premium Artisanal Leather Pouffe - Handmade - Delivered unstuffed - Ottoman, footstool, floor cushion (Brown)

This Ottoman from LEATHEROOZE measures 45.7D x 50.8W x 50.8H centimetres.The colour of this Ottoman is quite pleasant in a light brown with white beading forming a pattern on the top of the Ottoman and around the outside.This Ottoman does not comes with any filling and so you will have to supply your own and apparently you can use Polyester or Cottom Fibre Filling.The main issue I have with this Ottoman is what it is made of as in the description it says it is made of "Leather" and yet when I opened the packaging I was expecting a fabulous leather smell to come out but instead there is a heavy chemical smell. I am not even sure this is leather and the smell is so bad I have had to package it back up again due to my partner feeling ill with the smell filling the house.At some point I may leave it open in the garage in the hope the smell will eventually disappear as there is no way it can stay in the house.Overall the Ottoman does look nice but the smell is just overwhelming and I am quite sure it is not leather.

🔹INTRO & DESCRIPTION🔹The Leatherooze unstuffed leather pouffe arrives folded flat in a plastic bag. It is mentioned several times on the product page that this is an unstuffed item, so you need to source your own stuffing. The makers suggest using old clothes, bedding, pillows, bubble wrap etc. Unfortunately, we have recently updated our double bed for a King size, and I took all my double sized bedding to the charity shop last week ! It would have been perfect for this. I am not so sure about the bubble wrap idea, as I think this could be quite noisy !The manufactures also warn of a smell coming from the leather, and due to the fact it is handmade, there may be natural flaws in the leather.The pouffe itself is cube shaped, and features what I would call a mandala stitched design on the top. It has white embroidery and then a white “bobble” effect braid in a “flower” pattern which is also along each of the seams. The leather is a rich tan colour, and it has a long zip at the base to enable easy stuffing.🔹OPINION🔹&🔹CONCLUSION🔹As the ad suggests, there is a smell with this product when you first unpack it. It’s not the usual leather smell, mostly likely due to it being treated with something. As it was warm and sunny, I left it outside for several hours. The smell was still evident when I brought it in, but not quite so strong. It has now been out of the packaging for a week, and the smell has all but disappeared.The pouffe does seem very well made, with the lovely intricate embroidery, giving it a Moroccan feel. The seams inside appear well stitched with no missed areas or loose threads. The zipper is nice and long and runs smoothly. I could detect no marks or scratches on the leather.I am actually very happy with this pouffe/Ottoman, and at £45, I think it represents good value. Depending on how firmly you choose to stuff it, it could be used either as a footstool or something to sit on. I haven’t yet stuffed mine, and I will probably have to buy some cushions to fill it. Once I do, I will upload a further photo.
