Attractive and good quality pen. Reviewing red fountain pen
I like the fact that this comes with comprehensive instructions for usage of the pen and the water aspirator. The instructions are clearly a printed and actually look quite attractive as well.In fact I like the packaging for this pen it looks attractive which makes this ideal as a gift on the downside the sticky label that fixes the lid to the base is of the wrong kind of sticky and pulls the way the card when you remove it so if you want to use the box as attractive storage oops it's now looking a lot less attractive because some of the papers tone away. The Penn itself is nicely weighted and easy to grip I like the red and gold aesthetic most of my other fountain pens are silver and black so this makes a nice difference.Writes beautifully, improving even my rather basic handwriting.

Nice, weighty, important looking fountain pen
I like my fountain pens to have some weight to them. This brass fountain pen has a good balanced hand feel. More balanced without the cap on the end.The cap is a click on, with a very solid click so you know it is attached. I like this better than screw on caps. The base screws on with enough turns that it can't accidentally fall off. I didn't use the provided ink disposable cartridges as I don't like using black ink, but I didn't buy this for the ink.The pen comes with two refillable ink cartridges, but I am not sure why. The one already installed in the pen is of the twist type to pull ink into the reservoir, and it is the one I used to test out the pen for the first time. There is another, smaller reservoir. that has a plunger type pull to fill, and it is smaller. I have not seen this one before, but I am excited to try it in the future as it seems to be a great way to try and use smaller amounts of color.I found that the pen is very comfortable in the hand and allows me to write for some time without hand fatigue, which is surprising when you first feel the weight of the pen. The blue and brass coloring makes it look impressive. This would be a wonderful gift for someone who enjoys fountain pens.

So far so good but...
This pen doesn't seem to flow as nicely as some of my other fountain pens. The nib is not as smooth across the page - but it's acceptable. Not going to be my favorite pen.

Much Better Fountain Pen Than the Price Suggests
Note: There are multiple products attached to this listing. I am specifically writing this review for the fountain pen in black.I have a thing for fountain pens and I jumped at the chance to try this one. One thing I have learned in recent months is that the inexpensive Chinese pens are often of good quality, and based on that I was willing to give this one a chance. This is a better pen than I expected it to be, and it’s a good one for daily carry. This is a black fountain pen with gunmetal gray accents and a surprising amount of weight. I have used other, more expensive pens that are less substantial. When the cap is on (and the pen is not in use) it is slightly top-heavy, but when the cap is off and when it is posted, the pen is actually balanced really well. The cap seems to be the weighty part of the pen. The cap snaps on with a satisfying click. The pen comes with a generous number of cartridges as well as a converter. The converter is on the small side, so using it will require filling the pen much more often when compared to other pens I have. I have not tried using a converter from another pen with it yet (some converters are “universal” and these might fit without issue).A fountain pen can be beautiful, expensive and made of the finest materials, but if it writes poorly it’s not worth the time and effort, even if it’s cheap. It comes down to the nib (and to a lesser extent the feed). I was really expecting this particular pen to be a little scratchy, but instead it is actually smoother than some of the [much] more expensive pens I own. It’s not the absolute smoothest pen I use, but it’s smoother than could be expected, especially at the price point. I haven’t had it long enough to see any issues emerge, but so far I have not had hard starts or skips once it was inked and primed. There is a textured grip near the nib but it is not effective for me. I have really large hands and I need to hold the pen a little farther up the barrel than people with smaller hands. The grip will serve people who need to hold the pen closer to the nib.The pen comes in a simple but presentable box.For a cheap pen, this fountain pen is better than expected. It’s made well, it has some good weight to it, and it write very smoothly. The pricing makes it very easy to recommend.

Nice pen, terrible nib
The pen is very nice, but the nib is terrible. It flexes but it has trouble returning to its original position which means that it will stop writing. The nib is also not very smooth at all. Other than then nib, it’s a nice pen and I like it a lot.

Not perfect, but still a decent pen (once the ink gets flowing)
I do love my fountain pens, and although this one has some flaws, this is one of the better ones.Right out the package, it compares favorably to many of its competitors. For example, it actually comes in a nice gift box, has printed instructions (not that I actually need them, but it's nice to have), and it comes with a box of 10 black ink cartridges. Believe it not, one of the last inexpensive Amazon pens I ordered came in a bag and that was it. No box, no cartridges, and no instructions as to which cartridges to buy. So already, this pen is a step up.But more to the point, here's what I like about this pen. First of all, it's an elegant looking writing instrument with a dark chrome looking shirt clip and accents. The makers say it's made with a copper alloy, but truthfully, I really don't know what that means. Although it's a tad bit on the light side compared to more expensive pens, it does feel good in the hand. In addition to the 10 previously mentioned ink cartridges, it comes with two snorkels for replenishing from an ink bottle. Why two? I have no idea, but it really doesn't matter because it's been years since I've used an ink bottle. But despite it's good looks, here's what I'm not too crazy about. First of all, I can't tell what size nib it has. Please understand that this price range, you are only going to receive a steel nib instead of a more expensive gold or gold tipped nib. Even so, it would be nice to know what size nib you are using. Fine, medium or broad? Who knows.More importantly, I really disliked the fact that took a long time for the ink to flow once a new cartridge was inserted. Even running the nib under warm water didn't do the trick. All in all, it took the good part of an hour for the ink to flow and even then, the initial writings were a little scratchy, if you know what I mean. Honestly, it took another hour for the ink to fully flow but once it did the lines were solid and strong. This really is a nice-looking pen, but because I had such a hard time getting the ink to flow correctly, I'd have to give it four stars rather than five.
