A nice 40-card Spanish-suited deck.
I love playing cards. As a magician, I use them as props for tricks. But as my interest in the history of playing cards grew, I also collect playing cards from all over the world. I love the Spanish-suited decks (oros, copas, bastos and espadas) because they harken back to the old suits used by the Italian and Moorish decks centuries ago. It isn't (as of the writing of this review) stated in the text that this is a 40 card deck. All of my other Spanish decks are 50-card decks so I am pleased to be receiving a 40-card deck. For those who thought they were buying a 48- or 50 card-deck, this could be a disappointment, though.Traditionally, Spanish decks were either 40 cards or 48 cards. Modern 48-card decks now usually also contain 2 jokers for a total of 50. There is a photo mentions that this deck does not contain 8s or 9s as one would -- or at least should -- expect with a 40-card Spanish deck, but as people often do not scroll through the photos, it would be good if the seller updated the item description and title to make this clear.Quality-wise, these are reasonably good cards (and better than some of the Spanish decks I own) and should stand up fairly well to play. They have a good back design. If you want a 40-card Spanish deck, this is a good choice.

Muy mala calidad. En primera la caja de los naipes viene rota y en segunda en la descripción de los naipes dise que son de plastico y la que me enviaron los naipes son de carton

Traditional Spanish cards perfect for special games
These traditional cards are perfect for games needing a special deck. Uses traditional coins, swords, cups, and batons, the design and art works is great. The build quaility is great and has a good hand and table feel. The case is a clear plastic two piece which is unique and this is a great value for families who want traditional games for their children to learn.

This is a Spanish Suited Deck, not the Common French Suited Deck You're Probably Thinking Of.
These are NOT your standard French Suited deck of 52 cards. That's the most common deck in the world, so I guess when people see "playing cards" you just assume that's what they'll be, no matter where they say they're from. Please ignore the negative reviews from people who clearly didn't understand what they were getting. That said, this is a Spanish Suited deck and it's exactly what one of those should be. In this Spanish Suited Deck:There are 40 cards. There are no QueensThere are no 8s or 9sThere are no JokersThe suits are Swords, Cups, Coins and ClubsThere are not "red" and "black" cards. The artwork is very colorful, the prints are clear and crisp and very pretty. I love these traditional designs. The card stock is just shiny card stock, so I don't recommend fierce handling, or a lot of riffle shuffles with these. They come in a clear plastic box for storage, which is pretty great.I am really pleased with these and they are just what I needed.Just please know that if you think they're going to be the standard deck that you play Blackjack with, you're going to be mighty surprised. This is a horse of a whole different color, and it's beautiful! :)
