Orient Solar Quartz 200m Diver Style Watch with Chronograph and Sapphire Crystal

I would challenge anyone to find a nicer chronograph with a sapphire crystal under $220 USD. This could be though of as the little cousin of the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer, just without a tachymeter, with higher water resistance, and priced anywhere from 2-3 times cheaper. I personally prefer the look of the dial and diving bezel on this Orient anyway.Orient's model naming can be inconsistent and confusing at times, but what you are getting here is basically the Mako-3 with a solar quartz chronograph movement replacing the automatic. I like automatics, but I am also looking forward to wearing this for the next decade or more without having to change the battery myself or send in for any maintenance at all for that matter. The only thing you could really ask more of the movement in this watch would be to change the 24 hour subdial to count chronograph hours instead. The chronograph will automatically reset after measuring only one hour.The bracelet was easy to size and has 4 micro adjustment settings on the clasp which helped it to fit a lot better for me. The lume on the hands and indices is very bright and doesn't take much time to charge.It's also very important to read the manual and make sure you don't try to set the date wheel while the watch time is set between certain hours (9 pm - 1 am).Make sure you purchase only where the seller is Amazon.com as they are an authorized retailer for Orient in the US. Third parties will undercut the Amazon price here but you will also get no warranty with your cost savings. Verify that you receive the black box with the brushed stainless inlay, which contains a International Guarantee booklet on top of the manual.I had received this watch twice within a week because of large price changes and it was too late to cancel the first order. When I received the first order it ended up incorrectly being the Japan import version in the light green box. While these watches looked identical, you do not want to keep this version from the Japan domestic market if you have paid more for the 1 year Orient guarantee, since it can be bought from grey market vendors with no warranty for under $200.

The watch balances well on my wrist and feels comfortable. As for looks, I see it catching other people's eyes. I trust the quality because I own another Orient as well, which I am very satisfied with. As far as the strap, it fits well and looks nice, so I don't know why it receivs bad reviews. If your considering the watch, I doubt you would be disappointed with this purchase.

Nice piece overall. I like that it’s 200m without screw down pushers. Sapphire crystal is nice. Accuracy is spot on. The bracelet leaves a lot to be desired, but that’s typical with Orient. The only other con is the screw down crown. It doesn’t feel as good as the one on my other Orient. May change out the bracelet in the future, but overall it’s a keeper.

The media could not be loaded.  Es más hermoso de lo que pensaba en fotos no se alcanza a apreciar realmente lo bonito que luce este reloj. Realmente hay mucha calidad; el tamaño perfecto para mi muñeca (17cm), y el extensible aunque muchos se quejan que es muy ruidoso y endeble, a mí me encanta obvio por el precio es más que suficiente. Las instrucciones son un poco ambiguas sobre todo en la parte de la carga del reloj, es mi primer reloj solar, supongo que al usarlo y tener contacto con la luz solar o incluso un foco se carga automáticamente, o habrá que dejarlo "detenido" mientras se carga completamente a plena luz solar aprox 5 a 6 HRS, esa es mi única duda. Pero supongo que lo averiguaré mientras le doy uso y ver cuánto dura funcionando.Si piensas adquirir uno, no lo dudes en verdad es muy hermoso y roba una que otra mirada.

Very beautiful pearl white sunburst dial, solid construction with good lume. Solar with Sapphire, 20bar water resistance. The only let down is the 22mm strap. Got it for an amazing price, sold by Amazon.ae. The pictures don't do justice to the watch. A real beauty 😍

Zegarek bardzo ładny, na żywo jeszcze ładniejszy jak na zdjęciach. Na minus dla mnie tylko fakt, że główna sekunda nie pracuje w sposób ciągły, ale taka charakterystyka chronografów, o której dowiedziałem się po zakupie 😅
