Alaskan kids here: Great boots! +Durability +Warmth +Ease of donning/doffing
Our go-to boots here in Alaska. I usually get two years of wear out of these boots for my 10 and 11 yo boys. We've owned 6+ pairs of bogs and I find their limitations to be: the soles wear and get slick and they have a wear point on the heels (to be fair, we just step on the back and slide our foot out and don't actually reach down with hands and pull them off). They can be snug on the calves and yanking off with the hands has resulted in flying boots and a resultant fight between siblings. Frequently the insoles wore out quickly. Sizing is just about right. I always size up a 1/2 to 1 size. They'll loosen up a bit but not much. The pattern doesn't last - the toes and sides will wear off. They do stay mostly warm down to -30; much like any boot it depends on the socks. I gotten cold feet in these boots when I've worked outside for more than 15 minutes at temps less than -10 but that was just with regular athletic socks. Alaskans tend to be pretty skeptical of warmth ratings but these really are pretty good boots for our winters. I remain with the brand since I enjoy their durability, warmth, and ease of use.One kid whines that they can be hard to put on/take off as the calves can be snug - and we're skinny legged folks so I'd imagine a heavier kid might have trouble with these.UPDATE YEARS LATER: those boys are STILL wearing these (by choice) and I'm still schlepping out to do barn chores in mine. I have two pairs myself with fancy patterns that receive compliments from everyone (even men!). However, as Bogs age they do begin to get less waterproof. But I'm talking AGE...like 6 years or more. The neoprene develops pinholes and seams get loose; I figure that's to be expected. Also, despite what Bogs says about antimicrobial whatnot, these can and DO build up a hefty stink after a year or so. I've found that filling the entire boot up with water in the tub with any actual antibacterial cleaner and letting it sit for an hour or so then fully drying will freshen them up just fine for another 6 months or so. I've also tossed these into the washing machine with a couple of towels just to fresh them up and they've come out looking awesome. A full drying and they were back in action. I remain a loyal customer.

Great Boot! Feet stay dry and warm!
I got these for my 8 year old daughter last winter. We live in Michigan so we get our fair share of snow, ice, and cold weather. These boots are not cheap by any means, but they are worth every penny. Not only are they warm, but with the grip handles, they are easy and quick for her to put on. This is especially important as her school has the kids change from boot to shoes and vice versa at arrival, recess, and dismissal. We found the fit to be spot on, and my daughter loved the styling of the boot. She never complained that her feet were cold and her socks stayed dry, even when playing in snow drifts. When she grows out of these, I will look for another BOGS boot as a replacement...dry and warm feet are well worth the money

You get what you pay for.
I've always wondered why Bogs boots were so expensive. Now I know after getting a pair for one of the kids. These are a quality and great fitting cold-weather boot. The fit is true to size and the foot slides right in. The foot is secure in the boot and the top of the boot comes mid-calf. This is high enough to keep water and snow out but low enough to easily walk. The bottom of the boot has good traction. They also keep the foot warm and dry. These Bogs could be the perfect kids boot, albeit expensive. Go with these if you don't mind paying a premium. Otherwise Western Chief boots are comparable kids boots at a cheaper price.

These are amazing boots! We wanted to buy our son muck ...
These are amazing boots! We wanted to buy our son muck boots but they don't make them as small as we needed them. I bought these for my 2 year old, he wears a size 8 and we bought a size 8. They fit to size in my opinion and they are waterproof, snow proof, mud proof. Perfect for stomping in any kind of mess, playing outside with no worries of dirtying nice shoes. The only downside I think is they are a little bulky and heavy so he walks a bit different in these than any other light shoe. Also they are a bit pricey for a small child, as they grow fast. We have a 4 month old so these will be passed down and used twice though so we will get our money's worth. I will be buying more in the future :)

Wonderful
Best rain boots I have purchased for my kids. In the past, I have purchased Crocs rain boots (very lightweight, lots of color options, not insulated) and Hunter rain boots (excellent soles/grips, well made, high quality, great colors, not insulated). However, these Bogs were insulated, excellent soles/grips, sturdy and fabulous. I feel very comfortable knowing that my children will be warm and safe during rainy day play. FYI, the product runs small. My 4yo recently wears size 10 and I purchased a size 11.

Great Boots! Great Ease on/off! Great for Wider feet!
We love bogs in our household as we have found them to hold up really well around the barn and just out in the cold snow, and wet. I purchased a pair for my son size 1 who likes to have a pair of boots that are easy to get on and off at 6 yrs old and are still flexible in the sole. These boots will be his second pair as he outgrew and wore his others out because that was all he would wear. I have a very small foot and wear a size for and these fit perfect! I tired a women's 5 but, they were to big even with thicker socks. These boots fit the bill just right and work well for those that have high arches and wider feet. These boots hold up well with a lot of wear and tear on them through the winter months and sometimes into summer. We ride horses Wyoming winters and they do great!
