Addictive fun with great looking visuals
Build your ride, race your way around iconic places such as mexico to victory, performing tricks in mid air to gain boost, all in 720p on the PlayStation 3.Pure is a gem missed by so many, it captivates your attention with the sheer drops off jumps and "can i squeeze one more trick in" before i land.Addictive fun with great looking visuals. Many ATV opponents on varying courses short and long keep Pure fresh and original, building speed ATV with max acceleration for those quick tight turning courses or tricked out for the incredible dropping down to reality ones.No split screen however, still worth your time in every way.

Great, until it gets insanely difficult
'Pure' for me, started off as an exhilerating ride packed full of high-octane fun, well executed visuals and a user friendly control scheme. Until I approached a standstill, being unable to progress after a certain few levels of play which provoked substancial amounts of senseless ranting and raving and my mental state plummeting into oblivion.Anyhow, the thing about most games is, prior to buying them you have to accept the fact that if you struggle to get along smoothly with it, there is no workaround, no cheats, no easier difficulty mode and no mercy. This (as an occasional inadequate gamer) truly grinds my gears, 'Pure' has ended up as one of those games I had once cherished and now pushed aside, rendered unplayable. I can't help but reminisce on the question; What target audience is this oriented at?Additionally, the game developers seemingly missed out on the opportunity to try to benefit marketing games to people who want to be able to perpetually gain an interest in gaming but lack the comprehensive skill to do so. I've been gaming since the inception of my life and I'm all for giving games a good old go, and I will reflect on the flaws and try to overcome them, but patently, there's only so much I can improve on.To conclude with this review I have several disputes to make here as follows. The pros:* The level design and graphics are distinctly attractive and are captured flawlessly.* The music playing in the background is always delightful to listen to.* The game becomes addictive and the objectives are always challenging.* The controls require a little getting used to, but once done, are very easy to conduct. The cons:* Your quad-bike slides around like something possessed. The entire game revolves around nothing but quad-biking, thus making your gaming expereince sheer utter hell.* If you happen to be very low on gas and mindlessly fly past it, there's no going back (which is very difficult to not bunny hop over or under it)* Gas being the vital essential that it is, is nearly always placed on small hills, making it harder to collect without jumping too high or too low.* When an array of racers start pacing infront of you, the gas/special moves collectables placed on seperate hills become obscured for several seconds making it pure fluke for which unknown collectable (hoping it's gas) you decide to chance.* The game is marred with narrow tailored corners unfairly placed throughout the game, which proves to be an impossible task to turn at an angle, easing your way out without making a meal out of it and losing the race.Despite the cons I have with this flawed gem, I remotely enjoyed playing through six or so levels of the game. Unfortunately I can no longer progress from there and therefore my incompetence with it has tainted my overall score of the game.

Absolutely fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pure (PS3) WOW!!! This was a game i read loads of reviews about, gained as much info as possible then played the download before purchasing. It wasnt on my list at all and i had little interest in racing ATV's after having given a few similar games a go in the past.but this?.....pure genius!!The graphics...amazing!! some of the best ive yet seen.the controls? 100% spot on..!!if anyone tells you this is not as good as Motorstorm, ignore them..this is 100 times better. Even the new Motorstorm Pacific game that ive played comes nowhere near this in terms of playability, trust me. The biggest problem with Motorstorm is the inability to turn or twist mid air to get your vehicle pointing in the right direction. Its a major problem (try the Motorstorm download to see what i mean) but PURE is exactly how you know it should be, twist in mid air, re-adjust, use your ATVs weight to control as if you would in real life. You cant do this in Motorstorm and its so annoying, you end up following the same old route because of this fact but PURE nails it. Its the best thing about PURE for me, and because of this fact, playing the game is a joy, its fun, and you wont put it down. Immediately enjoyable and well worth every penny. Good deal on Amazon to at £29, cheapest ive seen to date.
