Full disclosure: I run exercise classes for seniors.I bought this book to give me a few new ideas for my exercise classes. It did, so it was worth the money.For someone who wants some guidance on chair-based exercise, this is a useful book.The first thing I liked was that the instructions are clear and pay full attention to safety. There are two aspects to safety in exercise. The first is to do the exercises in good form so as to avoid injury: it's very easy to perform exercises incorrectly and damage the non-target muscles. The second is the physical environment: in this case that means selecting and positioning the chair to avoid injury.There are plenty of exercises; certainly enough to put together a number of routines to keep the interest going.Recommended.

Really helpful exercises clearly explained.
This is a well laid out exercise book with good, simple descriptions for each movement, plus illustrations indicating positioning. It contains warm ups, a good variety of moves (from beginners through to advanced), plus cool down stretches. There are also workout planners which you can choose to follow. I purchased this to help build core strength as an aid to recovery from back problems, so mostly use the seated exercises. However, in only 3 weeks, I have been surprised at the benefits I have experienced in my mobility and the easing of my back pain. I personally selected to do a longer range of exercises on several days of the week, with occasional rest days as dictated by how I was feeling. Many of the exercises are currently not suitable for my personal needs at this time but I very much hope to be able to work towards them as my core strength improves. I’m very glad I made this purchase. It really is proving invaluable in my return to fitness.
