I noticed a few people not totally happy with this machine. In reply to a few points made id like to say first its not heavy, yes it has a bit of weight to it but much lighter than the first one I had (that has just packed up after 12 years of use) and it is very easy to push round, I have a very bad back and I was fine with it although as everything I do I have to do in stages. Secondly, you can get the soggy fluff out of it quite easily by taking the top plastic piece off above the brushes then just press on the brush roller and turn anti clockwise and the brushes pull the soggy stuff out, doing that totally cleared mine, just don't let it build up to a rediculous amount. I love the fact you put the water in the top tank and there is a compartment to put the shampoo into aswell and it mixes it for you as you go along. There were comments about it being loud but that doesn't bother me and its only slightly louder than my vacuum cleaner. There is a wash and rinse dial on the front of the water tank so you can rinse the carpet after shampooing if you wish, there is also another dial on the front you can turn to choose deep clean or quick clean. You also can remove the dirty water tank without having to remove the clean water one. It has a good length lead too. I did a bit of research to find the best and looking at a top 10 list the first 9 were Vax.The picture of my carpet just shows how good it is and im very happy with my purchase. One last thing incase you don't know, when its delivered you have to give the driver a code number which will be on your order even if you are home you need this. If you want it left somewhere fill out the form on your order with instructions and the driver can ring you, get the number then leave it where you requested, without that its a no go.

Purchased this Carpet Cleaner as a family member has 1 and reviews.My 1st time using a carpet cleaner, so it was all new to me.Easy to assemble, plenty of cord length, fine sturdy machine not flimsy, despite all the plastic.Filled it with the amount stated of warm water and Vax cleaner fluid.Did a super job, both in cleaning and rinsing.Great suction left nothing behind.Extra squirt of water jet very handy.Very easy clean and remove parts, regarding the removal of the fluff that lodges in the front of head after use, rather than disassemble, I unplugged and put the head over the bath and used the shower head to rinse it all out while still wet, did the job.Did not give a star rating for stairs, as I have not yet used it on them.Have not yet used all the extras that came with it.Overall, very pleased with this Vax Carpet Cleaner and would recommened it.

Relatively easy to get to grips with getting it up and running, despite the very pale and poor illustrations in the manual. Love the result: very clean dry linos and almost dry carpets. Cleaning the machine itself, however, was a real struggle. Too many Philips screws and not helped by the un-user-friendly manual. I'd still highly recommend this machine for its efficacy but not for ease of cleaning afterwards.

Firstly, don't forget to attach the front plastic suction panel, once that's on then yes, it's great.Is heavy but that gives me a sense of quality and it does it's job very well.The attachments are great.

I do not normally write reviews only short ones, although I do read them before buying a product especially Amazon Reviews. I used to be in the cleaning business and am used to industrial machines however I am now retired 72 and the industrial machines are too heavy to lug around as we only need to clean our own carpets now.Well I read the reviews on this and they call it the "Beast" and yes it certainly is but not that heavy that you cant get it up stairs etc and I can manage it fine. I bought extra Vax liquid and the machine comes with small bottles of liquid and spotter anyway but you will need more.Within 30 minutes of the machine arriving it was put together, filled up, instructions read and ready to go. I used the spotter on some coffee stains 15 minutes before going over that area.Some say it s noisy but no more than a loud hoover and it is easy to push. TIP hold the lead in one hand and push the machine with the other hand otherwise the cable lays on the carpet and gets in the way.Keep a close eye on the 3 tanks, it does not suck when the waste is 3/4 full to the line and it won't clean without water and fluid so keep topping them up and emptying.Follow the instructions exactly letting liguid out on the forward stroke and sucking only ob the way back (use the boost button on bad areas), works fine. BUT I did several 6 foot lines forward across the carpet but did not pull it back over to suck. I moved it over a foot each time for about about 6 foot wide area this way the liquid has time to work. Then went back over the same route using the rinse on the forward stroke and now sucking on the back stroke. On each row I did the forward rinse and pull back method twice to ensure a good rinse. Keep an eye on the clear head to make sure you have sucked up as much water as possible. You can see the water rising up the head. So after the 2 rinse suck runs push it forward over the same area slowly to get the most water out. Then the carpet will dry in about an hour and we have thick carpets.Yes this is the most expensive machine out of the 3 and I cant comment on the lower price ones, but as they say you get what you pay for and you get MORE than your money is worth with this machine. The indutrial machines we used for our business used to cost around £2500 each and I can can tell you in all certainty that this machine "knocked the spots" off the industrial machine. IT IS FANTASTIC !DO NOT TRY AND SAVE MONEY - BUY THIS MACHINE - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS - TAKE YOUR TIME - DON'T TAKE SHORTCUTS.Best money you will ever spend our 18 year old carpets are like new again (and the coffee stain came out)If you ignore this review then spend the money on a good doctor :)ENJOY cleaning your carpets.
