Xiaomi, Amazfit Bip - Smartwatch Onyx Black

Two and a half weeks in, wearing it 24/7 and I haven't had to charge it yet. 10 stars for battery life!Connecting to Strava - I've tracked 10 different running and walking workouts and syncs to Strava on iPhone via the AmazTools app or to android phone via the Notify and Fitness app.Workout tracking - it doesn't track my strength sessions or yoga but I can just manually add 30 mins and a brief description to my Strava. For running and walking it's great and shows workout time, distance, pace, current pace all visible on screen without pressing or tapping anything. It also shows the time of day on that screen too which has come in handy.Display - works better in sunlight than any other screen I've used. Truly amazed. Push one button and the screen lights right up in darker settings.Other functions - I haven't used the notifications but I did test them out at the beginning and they worked well. The stopwatch and countdown timers have come in handy. I've used the compass once for the novelty of it and it works well too. The alarms are great and you can turn them in and off from the watch but need to edit them in your phone. A way around this is to have lots 7:00am, 7:30am, 8:00am and simply turn on the one you need.Workout history - I like that you can see your previous workouts from the watch and it also shows whether they've been synced to the MiFit app or not.Comfort - most of tbr time I forget I'm wearing it. The flat design fits well under sleeves and it doesn't bother me at night. I have had a small indentation on my wrist from the HR sensor but I was probably lying on my own arm. I switched it to the other wrist and the dent soon wore off. Overall it's pretty comfortable.Price - honestly I've owned 2 watches in the £30 range and they are complete crayons compared to the Amazfit Bip, the ballpoint pen of fitness trackers. It has all the functions you need and does everything pretty smoothly. I've also watched a ton of reviews on higher end running watches and while they may be the fountain pens of running watches, with all singing and dancing features, this one does everything you need for a fraction of the price!

As a gym fanatic who mixes cardio and weights, Covid-19 lockdown has created a big problem. However, Amazfit Bips with its ability to record distance, having in built GPS location function and not having to carry my phone is a joy to me and solves the problem of knowing my cardio effort and output. I love running without my phone on me and not having to feel the movement of my smartphone in a pocket or pouch.Having damaged my knee ligaments during a 10k run years ago, I could not run on the road or hard surfaces where distances can be measured anymore. Amazfit Bips has an inbuilt GPS which allows for running off road and knowing accurate distances in miles or kilometres, exact location, calories burnt, route etc.I must admit that if you are a dedicated runner as I once was, Amazfit Bips is not for you in my humble opinion. I suggest you spend a bit more to get functionalities and runner measurements like splits etc.The watch is very light, easy to set up as well as sync to phone app, can be viewed in the dark and I suggest that you watch online videos for more information.

Bought for my wife who really likes it. She wanted something to sync with strava when she runs without needing to take her mobile.The first sync took a couple of hours but after that, they're coming in almost immediately. The GPS takes a second or two to find itself and then it's very accurate.The screen is visible in the day and the notifications are working well, they appear on the phone a second or two after the mobile so of that's something that'll bother you then be warned. All in all though, great value for the feature set.

I may have really liked this product. It had mostly 5 star reviews and apparently amazing battery life. Maybe it could transfer to strava now aswell using the Amazfit app.Sadly though it arrived with the phone/watch pairing screen stuck on. This rendered the device unusable. Having googled the solution of installing firmware or throwing in the freezer ! I decided the best option was to send it back for a refund and replace it with a Huawei.Thankfully amazon returns policy lasts for 30 days so Hermes collected it the next day with a few easy to print barcodes. I am not best placed to review the product but rated it one star as a software issue which has no solution is never ideal on any device. Of course things can go wrong with the best gadgets in the world, but typically they are easier to reset or restart to resolve the issue.Not impressed ...

Battery is great.GPS is accurate.Sleek design.It would be great to improve the app interface and compatibility with our devices.Overall, very pleased.
