Barnesmith Crewneck Sweatshirt for College, Classic Logo, Color, Adult Unisex

Amazing.

My granddaughter was accepted to North Carolina State for this coming Semester. She was interested in having a red sweatshirt so I purchased for her as a surprise. She really likes it because it doesn’t have a hood and it’s very lightweight. She wore it for me to see and it fit perfectly and looked incredibly good on her. The material of the sweatshirt appeared to be very good.

Although my kids or I never will go to Harvard, my daughter wanted this for some reason. I assume as a joke but this is a good quality college sweater. The material is pretty standard for what you expect in a quality sweater or hoodie, and the colors nor logo have faded after several washes.

This is a mid-weight (bordering on light weight) sweatshirt. It looks great and has the classic Boston College lettering that was standard for many years, then fell out of favor, and now is coming back into favor!!!The color is also the classic maroon and gold. I ordered a medium which fits fine on me pre-washing. I generally wear a size 38 blazer and this sweatshirt has a 42" chest, so no problem there. The issue that I mentioned in the title of this review is that the dimensions of the sweatshirt do not match what appears on the manufacturer's size chart. They list a medium as being 23" wide chest - as my photos show, the chest is 21". They also list the length as being 29.5" while I have it at 26.5" -- To be fair, I measure from the top of the shoulder, right beside the neck opening. They might be measuring from the middle of the neck opening which could account for maybe a 1" or 1 1/2" difference but I still think the length is also smaller than is listed on the size chart.I don't know how much this will shrink as it is 50/50 blend of poly and cotton.Again, I like this sweatshirt - looks great, nice feel, but just be aware of the sizing discrepancy when ordering.

I like the sweatshirt it feels comfortable to skin and fits just well.Something you might use on a slightly cold day or during fall.Rating 4 stars because the logo is smaller on the pictures and in person is larger, slightly wrapping around the chest. I think it would look better if the lettering was smaller like. In the stock pictures.

FWIW, I am not a Boston alum. I have never been to Boston. But dammit I love this sweater.I got this because I will soon be moving to the northeast and with it being my first time among northerners, wanted to look the part. As a California born, Texas raised boy I know how important street cred is. Whether or not this sweater gets me any among the loud, rowdy but loveable Bostonians remains to be seen but at least I'll be warm and comfortable while I find out.Seriously it's very nicely made and incredibly comfy. The lettering is very well screen printed and the interior is nice and soft, just thick enough for a spring or fall day and perfect for layering up for colder occasions. I really am happy with it, as I'm sure you will be as well. Rep your school...or appreciation for them, I guess.
