Okay-ish
I found this book really hard to get into. I kept putting it down, bored, then picking it back up a few days later. The characters just don't feel real and I can't explain why. The plot involves child abuse which is a tough read for most and I really didn't enjoy this book much at all but I plodded on until the end.I'm giving it three stars because it's well-written... it's just not my cup of tea.

Love Diane - Didn't love this.
I'm an avid Diane Chamberlain fan and have enjoyed all of her books - unfortunately, this wasn't my favourite. If my research is correct, this is one of her older stories puiblished in the early 90's so possibly her magic has developed the more she produced. For me, this didn't grip me like her others and I didn't have an ounce of warmth toward the lead character, Claire. I sympathised with the story (yet found endless talk of her recurring flashbacks quite tiresome for some reason) but found Claire to be selfish and spiteful. Her constant "I do what I want despite how it makes people feel" way of living had me rolling my eyes and her habit of picking and choosing her men was beyond irritating. Perhaps this tainted my overall opinion of the book.I've noticed a molestation back-story in a lot of Diane's books and this was no exception. Without giving the game away, I was pleased with the ending. Having said that, I just couldn't shake my contempt for Claire which definitely took the happy out of a happy ending. All in all, Love Diane - will continue to love Diane - just didn't love this.

Good read for followers of Diane Chamberlain
Thought the book was informative in relation to what it must be like living in a wheelchair and trying to keep a marriage alive and heathy with a non wheelchair partner.

Be cautious before buying, they are advertised as new but itβs a really old book
A good book but be cautious, this is the second book of hers that I have bought over the past few months that has been advertised as a new book, published this year etc, only to find out a few chapters in that they are really old books that I have read in the past. Bit of a scam!

Another page turner from the amazing Diane Chamberlain.
What an absolutely amazing, riveting book. I have never been disappointed by any of Diane Chamberlain's books. This one was superb and kept me guessing to the very end. I would highly recommend The Brass Ring, I promise that you will not be disappointed. Thank you Diane, a triumph of a book. ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππΌπ΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ

Totally captivating
I really enjoyed this book. Totally captivating characters, fabulous writing and a number of difficult subjects treated sensitively and intelligently. This book is the first of this author's that I've read and I will definitely be reading more of her works in the future.
