Surprisingly capable
With some 14ft high (woody) hedges to contend with I normally hire a Stihl Pole hedge trimmer from a local company at £49 a time. This time I researched my options and happened upon the adjustable Netta Pole trimmer. I wanted a reasonably powerful tool with the capability to cut through a minimum of 16mm woody branches, whilst not being so heavy that it is unusable. The Makita 18v LXT was on my list but the batteries made it just too heavy. I saw a few German reviews that seemed positive and as it was only £68, if it only worked for Two rounds of cutting, I was "quids-in".At this price, there is little to complain about, however there are some words of caution before you purchase this item.1). The motor unit is at the cutter end which makes it quite heavy at full extension. Anyone with a modicum of upper- body strength should have little issue. It's not much more unwieldy than a petrol trimmer though.2). The strap is pretty useless and the trimmer is best held with the handle against your waist, as a pivot, and making arcing sweeps with the other hand.3). You will need a decent extension lead and a Residual Current Device (RCD) to be safe.4). There is no tip protection on the cutting blades meaning you have to be extra careful around walls etc.Otherwise, I am impressed and completed the job in just over half the time of when I use a petrol cutter. Just allow some extra time for delivery as it comes from abroad.Highly recommended.

Tough enough to last
It's big, unwieldy, top heavy, and takes careful handling at first. After some minutes I learned how to use the shoulder strap to balance its weight and found that handling became much improved. Operating the power switches when trimming medium height hedges (with the blade at 90 degrees) is awkward, I prefer to use a platform ladder and keep the blade at 0 degrees. The trimmer is long enough for all of my requirements without the need to extend it. I haven't tried the chainsaw yet.The trimmer is well made, cuts well, and seems tough enough to last.

HEAVY.
The chainsaw arrived quickly and was packed in a very large box. There is some self assembly required and the instructions are as basic as you can get and were very frustrating. The chainsaw works very well, its pretty quiet and cuts well BUT it is heavy, a woman would find it difficult to use for any length of time even with the supplied sling support

5 STARS. £89 > bloody bargain.
This is a kick ass hedge cutter. I've owned a number of hedge cutters in the past and they all give up or don't have the power in them.I decided on this mainly because of the price and that it came with a chain saw.My Leylandii was certainly going to get it now.The trimmer arrived and I had it set up within minutes, put the oil in the chain reservoir (doesn't come with oil) and plugged it in.Yes it's slightly heavy but no trouble for me. On full extension it made mince meat of my Leylandii. The chainsaw effortlessly went through the really thick branches.I wish I bought this years ago.5 STARS. £89 > bloody bargain.

Excellent trimmer. Have a long bladed Bosch which I find too heavy and cumbersome. This is lightweight and so easy to use in comparison. And the cut it gives is superb - so much so I have had people stop me in the street to ask what make and model etc as they were impressed with my hedges and my neighbour asked if I had used a spirit level! - Will add pics when the rain stops and allows!

Hedge today, gone tomorrow
Not the hardest thing in the world to use, once you've realised you don't need to extend it to it's full length to do the sides of hedges!Strap is, fiddly, but useful for a rest. Handled the over grown Conifer Bush thing next door have encroaching on our garden well enough! But don't expect it to deal with anything thicker than a finger in branch thickness.

GREAT VALUE QUALITY PRODUCT
I LOVE This hedge trimmer . It is exactly as described except a lot better than I expected . For the price this is a great buy , very powerful and a good size to tackle large overgrown hedges and bushes . It is not too heavy and yet not over light like some of the cheaper brands . Very pleased , fun to use , it makes this chore almost a pleasure .
