Keeps oil cool and reduces wear
I bought this cover to keep the diff from burning up oil in my truck. I was helping move some family across the states and there were plenty of grades involved. From Denver, CO to Knoxville, TN and back, no matter what grade I was on and no matter how hard I pushed the truck, the hottest I got this cover was 145 degrees Fahrenheit. This is saying a lot considering I have stock gearing, 36 inch mud tires, and the trailer I was pulling was a 30 ft enclosed trailer loaded to the gills with heavy junk. I also use an exhaust brake the whole way when needed so the axle was loaded pretty much the entire trip. Would definitely recommend to anyone that hauls heavy up or down grades semi-regularly, at least across country

Fits nice, looks good
Very easy install on 07 dodge 3500 single rear wheel, I have an aftermarket sway bar and had to undo the driver side ubolt of the sway bar to get to one bolt on the cover. If you had no idea what to do the directions are very easy to understand. Weight wise it seems slightly lighter then factory, looks and feels 10x more durable though. Holds 8 quartz. The fill and drain plug is way easier then having to unbolt the whole cover but for 8 quartz of gear oil it’s over $110. Gear oil is one of those things you don’t check until certain mileage. With the dipstick you can add it to list of fluid checks. For that it’s worth the piece of mind alone

Perfect fit for 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel
Great differential. Not only does it look good when installed but it has some much needed upgrades to stock. First is the added capacity, the more differential oil, the longer it lasts and the cooler it will stays. The second upgrade is the addition of fins to aid in cooling. Since your rear diff is cooled by air, the more surface area you have the cooler it will stay. The third upgrade is the large magnetic plug. This will keep any of the fine metal shavings, which are normal with time, out of the gears. This will definitely extend the life of your differential.Replacing it was easy. Drain, unbolt the old, bolt on the new, refill. Done. It took my brother and I about 30 minutes total.

Perfect fit and finish
Easy install and added functionality awesome. With a aging diff the magnetic dipstick allows to check on things.

I bought it and returned.
I watched the Banks video and realized why these flat back housing covers aren’t ideal. The curved dent you see in a stock cover is there for a reason. As the oil comes off the ring gear it slings it up to lubricate the pinion. Without this groove this action is inhibited. The oil simply hits a flat surface and causes foaming. So spend a few more bucks and buy a Banks Rear Diff Cover. They work better and engineered to lubricate the pinion bearing better.

I would expect the gear oil to increase in temperature more slowly and for the oil to cool more rapidly
This product is made well and included all of the hardware and tools for the installation (not the removal of the OEM cover). Unfortunately I have not done temperature measurements before or after. I would expect the gear oil to increase in temperature more slowly and for the oil to cool more rapidly. With a lot of weight in the bed of the truck, the cover and spare tire could interfere with one another, and that is something I need to keep in-mind over time. ( As of now, I never had enough weight on the bed to get the spare that low).A bit spendy, but a well made product.

Great Product
I purchased the Mag-Hytec rear differential cover to help reduce the operating temperatures and to provide a larger fluid capacity. I have to say that when the cover went on and filled with Royal Purple 75W90 fluid my RAM 3500 seemed to roll smoother. But the other reason I got this cover was to have a drain plug so I could swap out the fluid without removing the cover and with the weight that I tow I'll swap the fluid every 10-15K miles. I didn't buy it for the bling but it does look nice. Highly recommended.
