Flexi New Classic Tape Black Medium 5m Retractable Dog Leash/Lead for dogs up to 25kgs/55lbs

I bought the Flexi New Classic 8m Retractable Dog Leash for my dog, and it’s been amazing for our walks. Whether we’re exploring wooded paths or strolling through the park, my pup gets the freedom to sniff and roam, while I still have full control. The leash is super strong, perfect for my dog who loves to explore every inch of the trail (or road). It extends smoothly, and the brake system works like a charm when I need to rein him in (squirrels!).The leash handle is comfortable to hold, even on long walks, and the 8 meters of tape give plenty of room for my dog to feel like he’s on his own adventure. It’s rated for dogs up to 50kg, and even though my dog isn’t quite that heavy, it’s nice knowing I have the security if he decides to pull a bit harder.Bonus points for how sturdy it feels, this is not one of those flimsy retractable leashes that makes you worry about it snapping! The leash rolls in and out smoothly, and the tape itself is nice and durable, even after multiple muddy walks.If you’ve got a dog that loves to explore but you still want the comfort of control, this leash is perfect. Plus, it’s surprisingly lightweight for such a strong product!

I've used this lead for several months now with my very energetic Dogue de Bordeaux. It has stood up well to the daily pulling it gets, he's a very powerful dog. Initially I was concerned about how reliable the lead would be since it was smaller and lighter than my previous one. So far it has not shown any signs of failing despite the constant pulling it gets. It's easy to operate. Recommended.

Good lead, looks good and lock mechanism works well. The only negative is the clasp on ours got stuck in the down position and was broken when our dog pulled on it at an angle with the wide D ring on his collar (he's 20kg for reference). I have had to replace the clasp myself as I needed it in the moment but now the lead strength is compromised. I would have got it replaced through amazon otherwise.Overall good lead, works well but clasp isn't super strong.

I have a small dog that pulls a lot. This lead fits in your hand really well and it is easy to access the switch to lock and unlock the lead. The ribbon is pretty thin so if your dog likes to put the lead in its mouth the lead can fray. I really recommend these leads as they have never broken on me or misfunctioned in any way.The only issue I have is that the ribbon frays but that is due to my dog holding the lead in his mouth. However I will say that the lead has never fully snapped but I did replace the lead when I saw he had gone through about half of the ribbon.Overall this lead has never failed and in fits in my hand really well. I have recommend this to my friends and family and I suggest you give it a try.

Sturdy, nice and long, gives dog freedom and owner good control

Originally bought medium flexi giant lead. But I found the tape too thin. So I returned and bought this one (bought the large as i wanted a thicker clip) after viewing in the pet store. Worth it. Sturdy and retracts smoothly. 8 metres gives the dog enough room to have zoomies within a smaller space but also allows for an easier walk where she feels as though she is "off lead" given the length of the tape. Would recommend. The medium would be fine for the dog of medium size but as mentioned, I wanted a thicker clip so went for the larger size.

I have a couple Labradoodle puppies that are going through training, in walking AND in play. So I picked this up for them to give me a combination of control with them and freedom should I want to give it. If you've used Flexi, you know how good they are. If not, let me just preface by saying: the locks are great with minimal "accidental" engagements or disengagements, it is intuitive to use, it is well-built and holds up (so long as you keep the doggies from making them chew toys). However, new or old to Flexi, there are a few things you should know about this.....specifically:It's bigger and heavier....noticeably. Not anything that hinders me, but for some it may be an issue.The retraction spring is beefier. While you never really want to let a Flexi leash "just come back"; it's especially crucial here. I could see legitimate injury coming from letting it whip back.The bottom and top of the leash has the storage wheel for the leash exposed. This means the wheel can make contact with skin if you aren't careful and can possibly give you friction burns.None of these have really come into play with me, but I do feel they are worth mentioning as this is a slightly different beast from traditional Flexi leashes. However, in spite of these things, this leash is a remarkable tool of excellent build quality, smooth mechanics, and insightful design. I've used Flexi a long time and I will continue to use them so long as their quality holds. There are a dozen retractable leash brands......Flexi remains the best I've used and the Giant is no exception.
