Fantastic griddle for car or tent camping; heavy
This is a fantastic griddle which easily equal to the one I’ve had for years for home use which I believe is a KitchenAid. I could also use this at home but being able to remove the handle really makes it well suited for tent camping, especially since I unload from a car so the extra weight isn’t a problem as opposed to backpacking. I haven’t had a chance to bring it camping with me but I did test it out at home and it works great - really no different than any other piece of high quality cookware. Fit and finish of the griddle is also excellent; the handle snaps in solidly and requires unlocking to be removed and it’s sturdy with no wiggle to it. The griddle didn’t scratch in my limited use and clean up was also easy with the non-stick coating. I don’t have any complaints or issues with it, it works well, heats evenly and will be a great addition to my camp cookset, especially for breakfast use. Highly recommended if weight and size aren’t an issue for you.

Great product, but item description has multiple errors
I really like this pan, but the top item description next to the pictures has multiple errors, likely leading to confusion and dissatisfaction. First off, this is a CARBON STEEL griddle pan. The description says both carbon steel and cast iron, but it is definitely not cast iron. Also, the description says something about a lid, but there is no lid with this pan. The lower description paragraph is more accurate, but may cause some confusion with its mention of the pan being “non-stick.” If you have never cooked with carbon steel, read about it before buying. I love it, but it does require a fair bit of preparation and a little ongoing maintenance. It must be seasoned properly before its first use. The internet is full of ways to do this, but one word of advice- put on VERY thin layers of high temp stable oil (not butter or lard-this leaves a sticky residue). I put on a layer, then wipe it off with a clean paper towel. The tiny bit that remains is all you want on there each time you heat up the skillet. Also, I have never had any luck with the method that says to put on one layer and bake at high heat (or put on a grill) for an hour. The coating is always uneven. I prefer putting on multiple thin layers. Once the skillet is properly seasoned, cooking with it is great and the surface become fairly non-stick. The nonstick properties improve over time if you take care of your skillet. It heats much faster and much more evenly than cast iron. Clean up is similar to cast iron, so no soap and a nylon scrapper/scrubber works the best. Dry and re-season the skillet over heat after every use. The square shape helps to maximize space on a camp stove. The handle is a bit tricky to get on/off, but after the first time or two, you get the hang of it. The removable handle allows for more compact packing, which I find helpful. The pan is heavy, but nothing near the weight of cast iron.

Great pan, very portable, and works great
This is a great pan. It is very durable, and has a great nonstick coating on it. It is portable, and even looks pretty cool. Has a folding handle, so that doesn't get in the way while packed. It is made out of great materials, nice and durable, so it will be around for a long time. It is very easy to use, and maintain even clean up Is a breeze. Great pan, great price, highly recommended.

Durable and a good size with a removable handle
I like the size of this thing! It's perfect for bacon and eggs or anything that you want to cook on a griddle. The handle can be removed if you want to use it in the oven. The edges curve up so there's no spilling of grease. It is light for what it is, BUT I would not take this on a primitive camping trip as it does have a little weight to it. Also, be prepared to follow the instructions on getting it ready for use - I recommend doing this at the house before going camping so it will be ready to use. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and recommend it to anyone that needs a griddle for their BBQ pit or camp fire.

Very sticky. But I like the handle concept.
I really wanted to like this product because I needed on just like this. However, it is not to be.First, I washed it carefully and thoroughly. Then, I warmed it and melted some butter in preparation for two fried eggs. Once butter was fully melted, I added the eggs. They both stuck, hard. I like the crackly egg stuff but this stuck to the pan hard. I scraped it with a plastic spatula and was able to get it off.Next, the handle. A great concept but it doesn't slide on and off as easily as the designer would have hoped, I'm sure. The handle attaches by pressing the button on the end of the handle, near the pan, and sliding it upward into the "cradle" attachment bracket. I ended up pushing the pan around the stove top a bit before it would actually attach. It comes off easy enough, but not back on.I'll have to pass on this one and not recommend. Sorry. I really wanted to like it.

Cast Iron Skillet for Open Flame Cooking
I got this cast iron skillet to relive the old days when I first started camping. I would toss one of these over the fire and cook a rib-eye steak and it was the best ever. The skillet has a good surface area with a shallow lip that will make it easier to work with. I also like the handle that can be removed so there is no worry of burning your hand leaving it over the flame. The only thing... I wish the handle would fit a little better. I understand that this is a heavy 3lb cast iron skillet, but the handle feels like it is a little loose. It will certainly hold though, and it's not a deal breaker. Perhaps it's just my copy, I don't know. Anyway, good skillet overall for open flames.
