I bought this to use on a boat where a glass one would be a disaster. Also a real help to have a double walled version so that the coffee stays hot for longer even in a breeze on deck. Used it all summer 2020. It is great, well designed, keeps coffee hot for plenty of time without the need for an additional cosy cover (keeps hot longer than a different smaller insulated pot I have) and it is a large size so our family of 4 can all have mugs (not cups) of coffee at breakfast without making another pot. It is well made and finished inside and out. The plunger goes up and down smoothly. The outside is a nice shiny metal the inside is a matt finish. The top is insulated as well as the sides and I think that helps keep the heat in better. You can turn the top round to keep the heat from coming out of the spout and then turn it back to pour, but even if you don't do that (I often forget) the coffee keeps nice and hot. This is a great value purchase, works well, looks great so I would highly recommend for use anywhere, boat or house etc. In fact I am about to buy a smaller one to replace a glass version we have just broken at home. I was about to buy a replacement glass when I read all these reviews about broken glass and replacements not fitting properly etc...so I thought I should just buy one of these instead. It will be cheaper in the long run and the coffee will keep hot for longer. Ideal. Thx.

Great cafetiere, looks really nice and seems well made. Keeps the coffee hot and easy to clean. IF you're thinikng of this I'd say "go ahead" - BUT ignore the number of cups (8) as I think that's for tiny espresso type cups, we get 3 - 4 standard mugs of coffee from this (1000mL) version......

This replaced my old, smaller, single walled cafetiere. Whilst I would not call it 1.5 litre, as you never fill it that much, it is certainly good for a full 1 litre of good coffee, giving me three large mugs in the morning: Exactly what I wanted.In contrast, my old "1 litre" only gave me just under two mugs.This 'French Press Cafetiere / 1500ml Stainless Steel Coffee Press' has double walls, and with a tea cosy over the top, it keeps my coffee hot for about 1 hour, which is great: I treat this cafetiere the same as a teapot: Warm it first.It also has a type of opening under the lid, so when turning the lid, a gap opens between spout and lid, allowing pouring. After pouring, turning of the lid ensures that gap is closed, allowing the heat to remain inside.Pouring is fantastic: No dribbling and very smooth due to the design of the spout,People who dislike residue of the ground coffee should note: No cafetiere will ever guarantee no ground coming through. Only filter coffee can do this. I have used cafetieres many decades, the principle is the same as pouring the ground into a normal coffee pot, then using a tea strainer when pouring the coffee from the pot into the cup (as my grandmother used to do). A cafetiere is using the same method, just with the "strainer" essentially sitting inside the pot (operated via a plunger).Therefore, no points at all deducted because one has to live with it.I am very happy with this, using this now daily for months. Am unlikely to need the replacement mesh / sieve that came with it for a few years yet.

Works as expected. More robust and keeps coffee hotter for longer than glass alternatives. Also includes replacement filters. Used every day since purchase. No issues so far.

Great for small cups of coffee (12oz)

Quería una cafetera que supliera a mi antigua cafetera francesa de cristal, pero sin su fragilidad y es exactamente eso. cumple perfectamente, el tamaño es ideal y el ajuste también perfecto. Viene con un par de cucharas y otro utensilio que no utilizo, y con tres repuestos para el filtro (que aún no he tenido que utilizar).Recomiendo su compra

Wir haben diese Kanne im September 2020 gekauft, nachdem wir jahrelang ein 1-Liter Original des Markenherstellers hatten. Und wir sind überglücklich mit dieser Edelstahlversion!Unterschiede und Vorteile zum Original:- Viel grösser: Statt nur 1 Liter Kaffe bekommt man hier 1,5 Liter pro Füllung, was uns sehr entgegenkommt- Kein Glas mehr: Nichts, was zerbrechen könnte. Das ist mir bereits einmal passiert, und das Ersatzglas war kleiner als das ursprüngliche, so dass sich das Metallsieb nur schwer runterdrücken liess und scheusslich am Glas gekratzt hat - hier beschweren sich einige, dass das Kratzen an der Metallkanne unerträglich ist - das kann ich im Gegensatz dazu kaum hören, und es kümmert mich auch nicht, weil Metall auf Metall geht. Beim Glaskörper hatte ich da schon eher Bedenken, dass es das Glas beschädigt.- Robuste und sehr saubere Verarbeitung: Die Schweißstelle (Henkel) ist extrem fein gearbeitet, die ganze Kanne ist so robust, dass man sie wohl kaum kaputt bekommt. Siebe gibts drei als Dreingabe dazu (ob man das mal austauschen muss, bezweifle ich, das Original hatte nur eines, und das hat bis jetzt gehalten).- Aussehen: Ich ärgere mich immer noch, dass ich hier in einer Rezension gelesen hatte, dass die Kanne eher in eine "Kantine" passen würde - jetzt denke ich jedes Mal daran, wenn ich sie ansehe. Ja, das stimmt, besonders formschön ist sie nicht, aber wer darauf Wert legt, kann sich gern die Edelstahlvariante vom Markenhersteller kaufen, die kostet halt dann das Dreifache...- Mein Original hat damals 50 Euro gekostet, diese hier gibts für etwas mehr als die Hälfte. Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.- Bester Vorteil für mich: Ich muss mir keine Gedanken mehr machen, wie ich den Deckel auflege - beim Original muss ich immer darauf achten, dass die Öffnung vorne und der Schriftzug hinten ist, damit das Ausgiessen klappt, was man bei schwarz auf schwarz kaum sieht und einfach nur nervig ist. Bei dieser Edelstahlkanne entfällt das, einfach runterdrücken und ausgiessen, fertig.Warmhaltevermögen: Nicht wirklich vorhanden, der Kaffee kühlt schon schnell ab, aber das tat er im Original auch. Man kauft hier halt keine Thermoskanne, aber man hat in der Regel ja eine solche daheim. Und wenn nicht: Mikrowelle 2 Minuten, et voila, wieder heiß.Wir sind mit dieser Kanne jedenfalls rundum zufrieden und können sie nur empfehlen.
